SUMMARY:Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training for third sector organisations
DESCRIPTION:Three hour MECC session tailored specifically to third sector organisations\n\n\nC3SC has partnered with the local Public Health Team to deliver Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training to third sector organisations in Cardiff that have an interest in helping people improve their health and wellbeing. \nMany staff and volunteers in community groups and third sector organisations have regular interactions with the public. The training will provide tools that will help participants use those interactions as an opportunity to help people make healthy lifestyle choices. \nWhat will be covered at the training? \nThe training will provide up to date evidence-based information and resources on the subjects of smoking\, physical activity\, healthy eating\, alcohol\, mental wellbeing and immunisations. Participants will also be introduced to the ‘healthy chat’ model of behaviour change\, based around the three principles of ask\, advise and act. \nBy the end of the training participants will: \n\nUnderstand the basics of healthy behaviour change.\nHave up to date knowledge on health topics such as healthy eating\, alcohol\, mental wellbeing\, physical activity\, smoking and immunisations.\nHave increased confidence in initiating and having informal discussions related to healthy lifestyle choices.\nHave been provided with the resources and practical materials to help undertake healthy lifestyle conversations.\n\nThe training will take place face to face at Butetown Community Centre \nFor any further enquiry contact C3SC on 02920 485722 or enquiries@c3sc.org.uk

DESCRIPTION:This C3SC network helps Management Committee Members\, Trustees\, Chief Officers\, and Staff to be more confident and connected in your role.\n\n\nC3SC’s Third Sector Leaders’ Network: meeting 13th March \nCardiff Third Sector Council will reconvene their Third Sector Leaders’ Network meeting on Thursday 13th March\, with a 90-minute online session between 14:00- 15:30am. The focus of this session will be National Insurance Contribution Increase and Its Impacts on the Third Sector. \nThe session will feature a presentation by Natalie Zhivkova\, Policy & Insights Manager at WCVA \, the national membership body for third sector organisation in Wales. \n \nDuring the session\, we’ll raise awareness of the incoming rise in National Insurance contributions faced by employers and share the sector’s concerns on the impact this will have on voluntary organisations’ finances and how to mitigate it. \nWe hope you’ll join us for this informative session to share learning and make alliances. \n \nAlongside networking opportunities\, the Third Sector Leaders’ Network meetings are an opportunity for members of C3SC to come together with like-minded peers and connect with partners to provide insight\, influence\, and develop solutions to local challenges. DESCRIPTION:Come along to review the end of project reporting for the Cardiff Youth Led Grant. Get advice\, ask questions\, and leave feeling confident!\n\n\nCardiff Youth Led Grants – End of Project Reporting\n \nWe are organising a workshop to support the grant recipients of this year’s Cardiff Youth Led Grant in reporting on their activities and make reporting less difficult and stressful. \nThe workshop will focus on how to report the project’s outputs and outcomes and demonstrate the difference the funding has made to your organisation and community. We will look at how to complete the end-of-grant report and consider what a good report should include. \nThe workshop aims to strengthen and improve the third sector’s monitoring and evaluation practice and enable the organisations to demonstrate the impact of their work. DESCRIPTION:C3SC’s Starting Well Network: meeting 26th March\n\n\nC3SC’s Starting Well Network: meeting 26th March \nCardiff Third Sector Council will convene the next Starting Well Network meeting on Wednesday 26th March\, with a two hour in person session between 2-4pm. \nThe focus of the meeting will be the opportunity for discussion with Network members on issues raised at our last session for young people being denied access to Mental Health support services because their symptoms are not diagnosed as severe enough. \nWe invite any members to join the session\, particularly those offering mental health support to young people in Cardiff\, and contribute to an understanding of the picture of current service provision\, the gaps\, and opportunities to co-develop solutions to meet the needs and prevent crises for more young people. \nAlongside opportunities for networking\, connection\, and learning from peers\, the Forum gives an opportunity for Third Sector groups working with children\, young people and families to meet up and receive up to date information from guest speakers and presenters\, provide insight and influence\, develop solutions to local challenges\, and make alliances. \nNetwork members are always welcome to share your ideas and co-produce the meetings agenda.
