The purpose of this event will be to discuss the implications of Brexit for disabled people in areas such as legal rights\, health and social care and accessibility.  Informed by your views and leading experts in this field we aim to  produce a briefing\, also available in Easy Read format\, to support with communicating information on Brexit relevant to the sector. \nPlease register here. \nWe are also pleased that we will be joined by: \n\nJeremy Miles AM\, Counsel General and Brexit Minister.\nJane Hutt AM\, Deputy Minister and Chief Whip.\n\nThis event will take place on 6 June from 13:30 to 16:30 in room 0.22 at Cardiff University’s Postgraduate Teaching Centre and will see contributions from: \n\nRhian Davies\, Disability Wales\nProfessor Anna Lawson a leading academic from Leeds University in the field of disability and equality law.\nDr Emily Kakoullis from Cardiff University who specialises in International Disability Human Rights Law\nCharles Whitmore\, Wales Civil Society Forum on Brexit.\n\nPlease can you let us know of any access requirements you may have to enable you to fully participate in the event e.g. Blue Badge parking\, BSL Interpretation\, Palantype etc. \nWe have some budget to help with travel expenses for this event for disabled people and representatives of unfunded DPOs. This section of the course focuses on communicating with people who have mild to moderate learning disability as well as those who have severe a learning disability. \nDelegates will have the opportunity to develop their communication skills\, and learn about a range of communication concepts and techniques that can be used to facilitate effective communication with people with a learning disability. \nOver the course of the day\, delegates are invited to draw on their own experiences of communicating with people with a learning disability.
