SUMMARY:Integrating Information Technology through Open Standards
DESCRIPTION:This Wales Audit Office webinar will share how Open Standards can enable better integration of public services. \n \nOpen Standards make it easier for systems to work together and exchange data. They can help public services to integrate\, collaborate and take a long term view of procurement and public service delivery. These are three of the five ways of working that are at the heart of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.\n \nThis webinar from the Good Practice Exchange at the Wales Audit Office will share how Open Standards can enable better integration of public services.\n \nThe webinar\, which takes place on 5 April\, will look at how Open Standards can make it easier for systems to work together and exchange data. They can help public services to integrate\, collaborate and take a long term view of procurement and public service delivery. These are three of the five ways of working that are at the heart of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.\n\nInformation Technology departments across public services have traditionally purchased proprietary software. The obscure output formats from these systems often result in organisations being locked-in to contracts. These formats also make it difficult for systems to integrate\, which will be vital as public services come together under the auspices of Public Service Boards.  \nWalking away from this webinar\, delegates will have a better understanding of how Open Standards can be put into practice\, as well as being able to relate them to their work and effective public service delivery. \nFor further information and to book a place\, visit the Wales Audit Office website. \n \n

SUMMARY:Person Centred Approaches to Risk
DESCRIPTION:The person centred risk process uses person centred thinking tools to help people achieve the changes they want to see in their lives\, whilst keeping risk in perspective. The process begins by focussing on who the person is and what are their gifts and skills. \nBy offering a positive vision of success the implied aversion to any form of risk embedded in traditional approaches and attitudes can be avoided. \nIf balancing individual rights and duty of care continues to be an on going dilemma – this Learning Disability Wales course will help you out! \nFind out more and book online.
