SUMMARY:Briefing by the Welsh Language Commissioner on standards investigations
DESCRIPTION:On 6 January 2014 the Welsh Government published standards in relation to the Welsh language.    The Welsh Language Commissioner has now started a ‘standards investigation’ with the 22 county borough councils and county councils in Wales\, the three Welsh National Park authorities and Welsh Government.    A standards investigation is the statutory exercise where the Commissioner gathers evidence from organisations\, the public and her advisory panel as to what standards organisations should comply with. It is expected that the Welsh Language Standards will be made law by November 2014. Find out more on the Welsh Language Commissioner’s website.     The Welsh Language Commissioner invites you to a briefing session where she will explain the standards investigation process and publish the schedule for carrying out standards investigations with other organisations.   This briefing session is presented by WCVA in co-operation with the Welsh Language Commissioner. SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid (Wales)
DESCRIPTION:Two-day Diverse Cymru course \nMHFA (Wales) is a 12 hour course which is funded and supported by the Welsh Government and its partners include the Public Health Wales\, Health Challenge Wales and Mind Cymru. MHFA is in 21 countries in the world. The idea of MHFA is that people should be taught how to perform basic ‘first aid’ for those exhibiting signs of mental distress\, just as they are commonly taught first aid for physical problems. DESCRIPTION:Tros Gynnal Plant and Cardiff Council are working together to help looked-after children (living in foster or residential care) who are aged 11 and under have their say!  \nIf young people would like a carer to attend with them or an older looked-after sibling for support this should be fine – but please book by 13th February. \nThis event is free and will provide a relaxed environment for young people to have their say about being looked-after and to meet other looked-after young people.  \nThe Listening Event will take the form of interactive workshops in the morning where young people can give their views on being looked-after; lunch will be provided and in the afternoon ‘Recreate’ will be providing a craft activity which will be suitable for all ages.
