SUMMARY:Community Conversations: Start a conversation – and make a difference
DESCRIPTION:Communities across Wales face their own unique challenges. These are best addressed by employers and local partners working together to achieve a bigger\, more sustainable impact. \nCollaboration is key – but that starts with a relationship built on mutual understanding. \nThis is the idea at the centre of BITC’s series of Community Conversation events. These events will create an opportunity for responsible companies and community organisations to discuss both the challenges\, opportunities and the ways everyone can work together. Sponsored by Wales & West Utilities\, the Community Conversations will help to make connections and develop relationships between employers and community groups. \nBITC are arranging two Conversation events in the coming months – so please book whichever is the most relevant to you. If you would like to attend both our events\, please feel free! \n\nPorth – on Friday 24 November at The Pop Factory (10:00 – 13:00) – book a place here!\n\n\nButetown – on Friday 8 December at Butetown Community Centre (10:00 – 13:00) – book a place here!\n\nAs a community organisation you understand the particular issues at hand in the local area. This is incredibly valuable to local employers looking to partner with community groups. Attending the Community Conversation is a great opportunity for you to develop new relationships with employers\, unlock new ideas and potential support and share some of the positive actions already taking place. So please join us! \nPlease note that places at our Community Conversation event are limited to one representative per organisation. They are anticipating a high level of interest in these events\, so please book now to avoid disappointment. \nIf you have any questions about the event\, please contact the BITC Cymru team on 029 2078 0050.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Mindfulness
DESCRIPTION:A One Day Course \nStress is a leading cause of sickness absence across all workplaces in the UK. Against this background many organisations are seeking to introduce mindfulness programmes. There is a wealth of research evidence emerging to indicate that mindfulness can reduce stress and anxiety and can reduce the incidence of recurrent depression. The aim is to explore the meaning and potential applications of mindfulness across a variety of roles and workplace settings and to provide participants with the opportunity to explore how it might enhance their lives\, personally and professionally. \nFind out more and book a place online via the Children in Wales website

SUMMARY:Understanding and Responding to Bullying Behaviours
DESCRIPTION:A One Day Course \nIn a recent survey by Ditch the Label 50% of young people stated they had been bullied at some point\, with 11% stating they are bullied on a daily basis.  Of those young people reporting being bullied 44% developed depression\, 41% developed social anxiety and 33% had suicidal thoughts.  The impact of bullying behaviours has a detrimental impact on social\, emotional and academic development.
