DESCRIPTION:A one-day Children in Wales course \nThe Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill 2016 is now at Stage 1 of the legislative process and will complement the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014 (SSWBWA). This one day course will support participants to explore this new piece of legislation in an interactive way. The aim is for participants to understand both the process of its development and its key components. \nThe training is suitable for a range of professionals who have an interest in either the practice and/or policy implications of this proposed bill. DESCRIPTION:The Romani Cultural & Arts Company is proud to announce the Gypsy\, Roma & Traveller Arts & Culture National Symposium. The event\, hosted by g39\, will feature artists Daniel Baker and Shamus McPhee plus guests including Dr Ethel Brooks\, Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Sociology at Rutgers University\, US and a Tate-TrAIN Transnational Fellow at the University of the Arts London\, Dr Colin Clark of The University of the West of Scotland and Nick Capaldi\, Chief Executive of Arts Council of Wales. This varied range of speakers will engage the audience in conversation regarding the current state of GRT arts and their implications for wider society. \nThis unique event will take place in the context of the Gypsy Maker project; an exciting new RCAC venture that facilitates the development of innovative works by established and emerging GRT artists. The project aims to stimulate dialogue across communities about the ways in which art continues to inform our lives. For this inaugural presentation of the project the RCAC has commissioned exhibitions of new work by Daniel Baker\, Romani Gypsy and Shamus Mc Phee\, Scottish Traveller. \n“The arts help us to express what’s distinctive and singular\, but also what unites and binds us together.  I look forward to exploring these and many other issues when we convene for the Gypsy\, Roma & Traveller Arts & Culture National Symposium.” Nick Capaldi\, Chief Executive\, Arts Council of Wales \n“We are very excited indeed to be working with the Romani Cultural & Arts Company. SUMMARY:Understanding How to Safeguard the Welfare of Children and Young People - Accredited Training Level 2
DESCRIPTION:A one-day Children in Wales course aimed at anyone working directly or indirectly with children and young people in a wide range of workplace and community settings. The purpose of the training is to give participants confidence and essential knowledge on how to safeguard the children and young people in their environment.  \nThe training is accredited through Agored Cymru and participants will need to complete assessments to demonstrate learning. Upon successful completion of an assignment the participant will achieve 3 credits at Level 2. SUMMARY:Community Voices: Looking at the Impact of European Migration on Communities in Cardiff
DESCRIPTION:Although there are more than 2.3 million non-British EU citizens living\, studying and working in the UK\, very little accurate demographic information exists about this important segment of the population. With debates about the impact of migration dominating mainstream media and public discourse\, it is often hard to separate fact from fiction. \nThe UK’s leading volunteering charity\, Volunteering Matters\, is teaming up with New Europeans\, an association championing the rights of European citizens\, to deliver Community Voices\, a European Commission funded initiative that seeks to explore the impact of European migrants on communities across the UK. Community Voicescomprises a programme of six seminars in six local communities designed to examine the impact of European migrants on local services and develop a report on that impact\, offering a space for discussion in the process. DESCRIPTION:Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) is working in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to coordinate a workshop event to raise awareness of the implications of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. The Act will be implemented from April 2016\, fundamentally changing the way social services work in Wales. \nWhilst we don’t yet have all the answers as the second tranche of public consultation on the codes\, regulation and guidance is still out for consultation\, this workshop will bring you up to date and give you the opportunity to raise any queries you may have about the impact of the Act on the work you do. \nYou can choose to attend either the morning or afternoon session.
