The Act has removed inconsistencies\, making legislation simpler to understand and comply with. SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid (Wales)
DESCRIPTION:This Diverse Cymru 12-hour MHFA (Wales) course is part of the national training programme for Wales and its partners include the Welsh Government\, Health Challenge Wales and Mind Cymru.Comparisons can be drawn between MHFA and emergency first aid. In both cases members of the public can offer immediate aid and support the person to get appropriate help. MHFA improves mental health literacy and helps people to recognise the signs and symptoms of someone with mental health problems; to respond to various mental health crises\, engage with\, support and signpost people to appropriate professional help.MHFA aims to help participants: – Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others. – Provide help to prevent a mental health problem developing into a more serious state. – Promote recovery of good mental health. – Provide comfort to a person experiencing mental health distress. \nThe cost is £110 per delegate. This includes a certificate from the Welsh Government\, a comprehensive MHFA (Wales) manual\, a buffet lunch and refreshments.

SUMMARY:Pedal Power's Vintage Fair
DESCRIPTION:Are you a fan of vintage\, retro or kitsch items? Do you have an appreciation for unique\, handmade creations? Then come on down to Pedal Power’s Vintage Fair on Saturday 9 June. \nFollowing the success of the March Fair this event will also be held in the Scout Base in the Pontcanna Fields car park off Fields Park Road. This means the fair will be completely under cover if it’s raining. \nThere will be light refreshments available on site and if you fancy a bike ride you can collect a half-price voucher on the day. The headquarters is just a short walk from the Scout Base. \nThese fairs are held every quarter and they are fast becoming “must do” events. Once again Pedal Power will be bringing you a fantastic selection of over twenty stall-holders\, showcasing the very best in vintage and unique handmade items including: \n – Jewellery and accessories – Men and women’s fashion – Textiles\, bedding and cushions – Home-ware\, kitchenware\, ceramics and glass  – Arts and crafts – Books\, greetings cards and gifts – Curiosities – Welsh produce \nDirections: \nBy car: From Cathedral Road turn onto Fields Park Road. Take the third right into Pontcanna Fields car park\, where you will find ample parking right next to the Scout Base. \nOn foot: The Scout Base is adjacent to the avenue running between Western Avenue and the cricket ground or from Fields Park Road as described above \nTo visit the hire centre\, go to the tree-lined path behind the Scout Base and turn right. Pedal Power is approximately 500m further down on your right (towards SWALEC Stadium). Follow the brown signs for Cardiff Pedal Power and Cycle Hire.
