DESCRIPTION:  \nFor women who want to make a difference! \nAdamsdown Communities First and “People can” have come together with Women Making a Difference and the Workers Education Association to offer a unique training programme which gives women – particularly those women who are under-represented because of race\, disability or age – the opportunity to learn new skills and gain confidence to take a more active role in their community as well as in public and political life\, and have more influence on the decisions that impact on their lives. \nThe training is FREE and a crèche and lunch will be provided. SUMMARY:Engendering Change: Gateway to opportunity
DESCRIPTION:For women who want to make a difference!Adamsdown Communities First and “People can” have come together with Women Making a Difference and the Workers Education Association to offer a unique training programme which gives women – particularly those women who are under-represented because of race\, disability or age – the opportunity to learn new skills and gain confidence to take a more active role in their community as well as in public and political life\, and have more influence on the decisions that impact on their lives.The training is FREE and a crèche and lunch will be provided. The course is accredited by the National Open College Network and successful candidates will receive a NOCN Level 1 progression Award. \nThe course runs from Monday 16 January until Wednesday 14 March 2012. The course will be two days a week\, every Monday and Wednesday 10am – 3pm  for eight weeks. \nYou can attend a taster session on Monday 9 and Wednesday 11 January (ideally you need to attend both dates).  \n

Miri Meithrin is for babies and children up to 4 years old and is a great chance to come and play in a friendly\, fun\, and Welsh atmosphere. \nThe S4C entertainer\, Martyn Geraint\, will be performing and there’s a chance to meet Fireman Sam and Hanna’s Helpline. On top of all the entertainment\, there will be an arts and crafts corner\, face painting\, soft play and a cuppa for Mum and Dad! \nThe Miri Meithrin sessions are organised as part of Menter Caerdydd’s families provision. \n Price: £3 per baby/child (Parents are free) \n

Dementia will increasingly affect tenants and service users and could even impact on a personal level with family members diagnosed with dementia. \nDelivered by an Alzheimer’s Society Approved Trainer\, this interactive training course is flexible\, enabling the delegate to attend the morning\, afternoon or all day depending on the learning need.  \nThe morning session is recommended for anyone requiring a basic level of dementia\, understanding the different dementia types\, how it affects the brain\, different stages of dementia\, etc. whilst the afternoon is more advanced covering\, amongst other things\, reminiscence\, activities in dementia\, identifying holistic and individual barriers and adopting a ‘working with’ rather than ‘doing to’ approach. \n
