SUMMARY:Transport for Wales Consultation: Cardiff Central to Newport Road
DESCRIPTION:Have your say on the future of transport in Cardiff \nTransport for Wales are exploring potential options for future transport routes between Cardiff Central and Newport Road\, via Cardiff Bay and Porth Teigr. A new public transport link and enhanced active travel routes from Cardiff Central to Newport Road via the Bay has long been an ambition of the Welsh Government and Cardiff Council. \nThis would be a future stage of improvements following the completion of the Butetown station and the planned upgrades to the Cardiff Bay line and Cardiff Bay station and would be subject to securing funding. A number of options have been presented to collect wider feedback on connecting public transport in the area. The outcome of the consultation will inform an outline business case\, and following the findings report\, we’ll look to reduce the number of route options to one\, with a view to proceed with planning. \nThe seven-week statutory public consultation launched 12 December – TfW is particularly keen to seek the views of businesses\, employees and residents who reside in the proposed areas. \nWhen: Wednesday\, 18 January 2023 \n 2:00pm – 4:30pm \nWhere: Butetown Community Centre (40 Loudoun Square\, Cardiff CF10 5JA) \nTo take part in the online consultation\, please visit haveyoursay.tfw.wales/cardiff-central-to-newport-road. Consultation will close 30 January 2023.

SUMMARY:C3SC Warm Spaces Fund Grants Info session
DESCRIPTION:This Info session\, hosted by C3SC\, will focus on a grant scheme for Charities and not for profits in Cardiff which opened in December 2022\n\n\nAs the pressures arising from the cost of living continue to increase\, we are looking at ways to help residents with rising energy bills by supporting warm spaces for people struggling to afford the costs of heating their homes. We know that comparatively small amounts of money can make a big difference to small scale community-based support\, so Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) working in partnership with Cardiff Council\, will be administering a second round of the Warm Spaces Fund to support groups in venues well known to local communities – such as community centres\, community venues\, places of worship – to provide places for more people to meet\, socialise\, enjoy refreshments\, receive advice and to stay warm\, helping them to manage the increased costs of heating their homes.\n \n \nAim of the Programme\n \n \nThe Warm Spaces fund will be used to contribute to the cost of providing spaces for people to gather and stay warm to help offset the rising costs of heating their homes. The funding can be used for revenue costs only associated with these types of activities. It cannot be used for capital costs\, for staff costs\, for the payment of rent and cannot duplicate any existing funding.\n \n \nHow much can organisations apply for?\n \n \nOrganisations can apply for a maximum of £1\,500 under the Warm Space programme. There is no minimum amount.\n \n \nThe fund will be open for applications from 19 December with a deadline for submission of 5pm on 16 January 2023. Please note\, preference will be given to Groups who have not received funding from the first round of the Warm Spaces fund.\n \n \nThe event provides a great opportunity to hear from the funders C3SC about their grant eligibility criteria\, tips on applying\, the application process and timescale. Plus there will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards \nThe event will be delivered using Microsoft Teams\, and the link will be sent 24 hours prior to the event taking place. SUMMARY:C3SC Loneliness and Isolation & Warm Places Funds Grants Info session
DESCRIPTION:This Info session\, hosted by C3SC\, will focus on two grant schemes for Charities and not-for-profits in Cardiff which opened last week. See more information and apply at: https://c3sc.org.uk/warm-welcome-spaces-fund/ \nCardiff Council is working with Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) to help reduce hardship and winter pressures and will be working in partnership to offer small grants to support third sector groups that either wish to upscale services or provide warm spaces\, providing a network of support for people in Cardiff. \nThe Loneliness and Isolation Fund will provide funding of up to £1\,500 for groups wishing to expand their provision and is available for groups to cover costs such as venue hire\, promotion and marketing\, or to deliver services in new ways – such as upgrading digital subscriptions to deliver more services on-line or on a hybrid basis\, or minor adaptations to premises to offer more services face to face. \nThe Warm Welcome Spaces Fund will be available to groups providing venues well known to local communities – such as community centres\, community venues\, places of worship – and will make a contribution towards the costs of providing spaces for people to meet\, socialise and enjoy refreshments but most importantly to stay warm\, thereby helping them to manage the increased costs of heating their homes. Grants of up to £1\,500 will be available. \nBoth programmes are open for applications from 7 October 2022 with a deadline for submission of 5pm on 24th October. Groups funded under these schemes will be expected to have their details included in a directory and upload their information on this website to register the Warm Spaces information for each location Warm Welcome | Equipping thousands of warm spaces across the UK (www.warmwelcome.uk) highlighting the locations of warm spaces in Cardiff. \nThe event provides a great opportunity to hear from the funders C3SC about their grant eligibility criteria\, tips on applying\, the application process and timescale. Plus there will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards \nThe event will be delivered using Microsoft Teams\, and the link will be sent 24 hours prior to the event taking place. The workshop will not be recorded. \nFor more information please contact C3SC on 07973 725335 or enquiries@c3sc.org.uk.
