SUMMARY:Cardiff Dewis Cymru Well-being Roadshow
DESCRIPTION:We would like to give you the opportunity to share what you do\, and for Dewis to share what IT can do for you. \nWe will have a number of stands and information points available on the day\, there will also be an introduction to Dewis with brief presentation. \nDewis is a directory of services which is unlike any other. Dewis was adopted by the City of Cardiff Council following the introduction of the Social Services & Well-being Act in April this year\, which places a requirement on all local authorities to provide information\, advice and assistance to residents. Dewis has been growing\, with over 1000 resources across Cardiff and the Vale\, and we are now at a point where we want to launch internally and with partners\, share how the system works\, why it is different from other directories\, and to have an opportunity to network. \nIt aims to give choice and control back to the citizens. \nThis is not a public launch; this is intended as an internal launch for partners. Some of you might prefer to attend the Vale roadshow\, this is being held on 22nd September. Should you require further information regarding this please contact RWickett@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk \nFor more information about the Cardiff Roadshow\, please email Sarah Capstick at sarah.c@c3sc.org.uk

SUMMARY:Welsh Tenants Annual Conference - 'Not Just Bricks and Mortar'
DESCRIPTION:The Welsh Tenants annual conference for people who rent in Wales  \nMuch emphasis has been put on the 20\,000 homes that Wales needs to provide. Indeed Welsh Tenants as a key partner to the Homes for Wales campaign that won that shared commitment is fully supportive of that goal. But ‘Not just Bricks & Mortar’ is just that – it’s also about People. \nIf we are to improve the well – being of the nation\, the next five years will need to focus on the work we can all do\, to learn from peoples lived experiences of having a home be that renting or other tenures\, and to better prepare people for managing their home thus improving prevention. This means learning lessons from the past\, celebrating how far Wales has come\, and exploring how we can make the lived experience of people better through listening and engaging with renters. \nFind out more \nFor a booking form\, please click here

SUMMARY:The Donor Experience
DESCRIPTION:An Institute of Fundraising Cymru event – with Richard Spencer – The Commission on Donor Experience \nThe Commission on the Donor Experience has one simple ideal – to place donors at the heart of fundraising. \nTogether we will improve fundraising in the UK by appealing to the feelings\, thoughts and desires of donors as well as emphasising the needs of the charity. SUMMARY:How does the Welsh language work for young people?
DESCRIPTION:Welsh Government is calling on the support of professionals like you to help them engage young people in the next Real Conversation about the real and perceived opportunities and/or barriers to using the Welsh language in the world of work. \nThe event is a fantastic opportunity for young people to meet local employers and business leaders to discuss current opportunities to use the language to gain employment. It will also provide an opportunity for young people to speak directly with decision makers to understand what employers expect from young people and what language skills they are really looking for to help their business be successful. \nCustomers appreciate being able to receive all types of services in their own language and this often translates into increased loyalty to a particular company or business. \nOrganisations in Wales such as councils and hospitals\, need people with Welsh language skills\, as they must provide English and Welsh services to the people of Wales. \nIf you work with young people who have Welsh language skills\, please bring a group to this event so that they can hear how they can help all types of business or companies with their knowledge and skills. Similarly\, if you work with young people who are keen to start learning Welsh\, they too will have an interest in this conversation so they can be persuaded of the career advantages of being bilingual. \nThe Welsh Government has a vision of one million people speaking Welsh by 2050. Young people will play a crucial role in helping the Government to fulfil this vision\, and Welsh Government wants to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and attitude to fulfil their potential\, whatever future career choices they make. Welsh Government can only do that by hearing young people’s views first hand. \nWelsh Government is looking to engage young people aged between 14-25 from a range of backgrounds. \nYou are invited to bring along a group of young people to participate in this event. \nTo discuss group bookings\, please email realconversation@wales.gsi.gov.uk
