SUMMARY:Community Payback Projects Info Session
DESCRIPTION:Community Payback work is a sentence of the court that requires people to carry out between 40 and 300 hours of work for the benefit of local communities. The number of hours to be completed is set by the Court and the delivery of that work is known as Community Payback (CP). CP is primarily a punishment that restricts a person’s free time\, however\, CP is also rehabilitative and enables people to pay back for their offending\, build self-esteem and learn new skills. \nWales Community Payback provision can support beneficiaries by providing free labour to undertake various projects to support their local communities. The provision does not risk or replace paid employment\, rather it supports the completion of work that wouldn’t take place without the support of the provision. \nThis info session\, delivered by a representative from the HM Prison and Probation Service\, will provide an overview of the core principles of unpaid work\, the types of projects that can apply for support\, and examples of previous works carried out. \nThere will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about project eligibility and the application process. \nDate: Thursday\, 27 July \nTime: 12:30pm – 1:30pm \nLocation: Online – Microsoft Teams \nThe event will be taking place online and the link will be sent through within 24 hours of the event taking place. If you do not receive the email please check your spam or junk folder. Please register to attend this event using our Eventbrite page here.  \nFor any further enquiry contact C3SC on 029 2048 5722 / 079 7372 5335 or enquiries@c3sc.org.uk.

SUMMARY:FUNDING OPPORTUNITY Unpaid Carers "Short Breaks" Grant Scheme
DESCRIPTION:There’s still time to apply! Not sure if you qualify? Come along to our online drop in session to hear more about this excellent funding opportunity. Session delivered over Microsoft Teams \nThe Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board in partnership with Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) and Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) have allocated £283\,800 in total\, to support unpaid carers with short breaks from their caring role. The Fund is administered by C3SC in partnership with GVS. This Fund is to help deliver solutions in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to support the regional priority of reducing loneliness and social isolation. \nSupporting life alongside caring – all unpaid carers must have the opportunity to take breaks from their caring role to enable them to maintain their own health and well-being and have a life alongside caring. \nDevelopment of this new Fund has been informed by research commissioned by Welsh Government in 2021: What A Difference a Break Makes: A Vision for the Future of Short Breaks for Unpaid Carers in Wales. The research sets out 12 key principles for short breaks which underpins the design and delivery of the Short Breaks Scheme and provides a framework for allocation of funding. \nThe research importantly provides the following\, coproduced definition of what constitutes a short break: \nAny break\, which strengthens and/or sustains informal caring relationships and enhances the wellbeing of carers and the people they support. This may be achieved through a service\, an activity or an item. \nThe Short Breaks Scheme intends to benefit 30\,000 carers across Wales over the next three years through the following key aims: \n• Increase the availability and accessibility of short breaks \n• Provide personalised\, flexible and responsive break options \n• Prioritise and target short breaks to those who need it most \nRegister your attendance on the Eventbrite page here.
