It can be used in care planning and motivational work from the early stages of treatment until the exit stage. \n  \nFind out more on the NewLink Wales website.By the end of this NewLink Wales course participants will have: \n1. An understanding of the use of free mapping and structured mapping in personal\, client work and supervision settings.2. An understanding of the use of mind maps\, ways of thinking and cycles\, in motivation\, bringing about change and the development of care plans.3. An overview of how ITEP fits into the overall Recovery\, Engagement and Life Skills (RELS) programme.

SUMMARY:Structured Approach to Autism
DESCRIPTION:Oncourse Training Team Ltd is offering a 2-day Structured Approach to Autism\, Interaction and Communication course (incorporating TEACCH). \nThis eclectic approach will instruct delegates to respond to the needs of individuals on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD) with a much clearer understanding of the complexities of the condition\, thus enabling their clients through a person centred\, holistic approach to have more autonomy where possible.                          This workshop: – introduces the audience to Autism and Asperger Syndrome – identifies the complexities of the disorder – introduces the theory of mind and executive functioning – identifies sensory sensitivities – identifies metabolic factors and diet – explores through practical demonstrations the relevance of body language – identifies a wide range of communication modes – develops an understanding of behaviours that ‘challenge us’ – introduces Functional Communication Training (encourages attendees to read behaviours and replace with positive communication aids) – Introduces Structured Teaching Principles and the TEACCH concept. – enables more positive interactions with individualswith ASD – assists in developing communication styles tailored to individual needs – gives insight into the world view/perspective of ASD – Considers sensory and environmental issues (in-depth explanations and practical demonstrations give detailed reasoning as to why the ‘right’ environment is important to individuals with autism. Demonstrations and scenarios will highlight that sensory issues need to be addressed at all times. \nEach workshop is interactive and evolves according to the attendees and there valued input. The Autistic Spectrum is in itself complex; the condition is complicated and unique to every individual. Those attending these open workshops are generally from a variety of agency backgrounds and have differing knowledge bases which always adds an extra dimension to the course.   \nPlease note: if you have large groups of staff requiring this type of specialised training or other specialised training workshops\,  there are many reductions at the moment in order to help fit in with your training budgets. \nPrice: £150 (delegates need to bring their own lunch)
