SUMMARY:Innovation Fund Framework for the Welsh Government
DESCRIPTION:The Welsh Government and Communities for Work (CfW) team will be holding two supplier engagement events to discuss the upcoming Framework opportunity for the Innovation Fund. \nCfW has secured European Social Funds (ESF) to deliver employment support services in all 52 Communities First (CF) Clusters in Wales. CfW Specialist Employment Advisers and Mentors work in every Cluster and will identify and engage with NEETS (16-24)\, the long term unemployed and the economically inactive. \nThe Framework will commence on the 1st December 2016 and run until 31st December 2017.  An option to extend the agreement for a further 1+1 years may be available.  The Welsh Government has prepared the Innovation Fund in order to establish a Framework Agreement for the delivery of innovative projects to help engage and support the target beneficiaries of the Communities for Work Operations working closely with teams in each Cluster. \nEvents will allow the opportunity for potential suppliers to gain an understanding of the operations\, the tender process and the help available to suppliers in tendering; but more importantly we anticipate this being an opportunity for both larger organisations and small to medium sized providers to network with one another and undertake discussions regarding potential collaboration.   For further information please contact: http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/ How to register to attend the event: https://www.business-events.org.uk/en/events/innovation-fund-framework-for-the-welsh-government/

SUMMARY:Community Development Cymru Learning Workshop Event
DESCRIPTION:Sign up and take the opportunity to attend morning and afternoon sessions on topics which allow you to: \n\nEnhance your effectiveness in community settings\nBroaden your knowledge through interactive discussion and group work\nExchange information\, learning and experience with other colleagues\nDevelop your networks\n\nWORKSHOP 1 \nASSET BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (ABCD) \nThe purpose of the workshop is to encourage participants to think critically about working with communities. \nABCD offers an alternative approach to traditional models of development. It challenges mainstream thinking in relation to community engagement and how best to tackle “disadvantage” and “need”. \nThrough a process of interactive learning and discussion the workshop will explore an asset based approach to community engagement. It will seek to define the meaning and role of “assets” and how the concept can be used to develop individual\, group and community empowerment. \nThe session will outline the values and principles which underpin ABCD. It will also explore notions of good practice and the advantages of such approaches. In addition\, the session will examine the crucial role of agencies in the process of engagement and change. \nWORKSHOP 2 \nRELEASING COMMUNITY POTENTIAL – RECOGNISING COMMUNITY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES \nThe purpose of this workshop is to introduce Recognition Schemes which offer an alternative\, flexible way of recognising the skills\, knowledge and experiences people gain from working or volunteering in communities. The schemes are suitable for volunteers\, activists and paid community practitioners\, with or without previous qualifications. \nRecognition Schemes \n\nAre planned around community needs and run in local community venues\nUse interactive learning techniques\nAre designed for small groups of community members and workers\nHelp people understand what builds strong communities\nHighlight the differences people can make to  their communities\nRecognise people’s transferrable skills\nIncrease employment opportunities\nEnsure learners can achieve recognised qualifications within 4-5 months\n\nParticipants will attend both workshops (alternate am/pm) \nCost per person: £50 (Includes refreshments and light lunch) \nTo book\, please email Emma Smart at emma@cdcymru.org by 29th August 2016.
