SUMMARY:Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training for third sector organisations
DESCRIPTION:Three hour MECC session tailored specifically to third sector organisations\n\n\nC3SC has partnered with the local Public Health Team to deliver Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training to third sector organisations in Cardiff that have an interest in helping people improve their health and wellbeing. \nMany staff and volunteers in community groups and third sector organisations have regular interactions with the public. The training will provide tools that will help participants use those interactions as an opportunity to help people make healthy lifestyle choices. \nWhat will be covered at the training? \nThe training will provide up to date evidence-based information and resources on the subjects of smoking\, physical activity\, healthy eating\, alcohol\, mental wellbeing and immunisations. Participants will also be introduced to the ‘healthy chat’ model of behaviour change\, based around the three principles of ask\, advise and act. \nBy the end of the training participants will: \n\nUnderstand the basics of healthy behaviour change.\nHave up to date knowledge on health topics such as healthy eating\, alcohol\, mental wellbeing\, physical activity\, smoking and immunisations.\nHave increased confidence in initiating and having informal discussions related to healthy lifestyle choices.\nHave been provided with the resources and practical materials to help undertake healthy lifestyle conversations.\n\nThe training will take place face to face at Butetown Community Centre \nFor any further enquiry contact C3SC on 02920 485722 or enquiries@c3sc.org.uk

DESCRIPTION:C3SC’s AGM is a chance for members to hear about what’s been happening at C3SC in the past year\n\n\nC3SC’s AGM and Members’ Forum 2025 \nWe are pleased to confirm C3SC’s AGM and Annual Members Meeting will be taking place on 10th February from 12 noon at Butetown Community Centre\, Loudoun Square\, Cardiff CF10 5JA and Online via Zoom.  \nAs well as our formal AGM and resolutions\, the event enables us to further our aim to work co-productively with our members to develop\, support\, represent and promote our fabulous local community of volunteers\, voluntary groups and charitable organisations\, and to say thank you for all your support. \nIn the current environment of instability and ongoing financial constraint\, the demand for new ways of working that puts people at the centre of the way services are designed and delivered align with the long-standing approaches that are central to third sector delivery. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group and Forum on the Draft Dementia Strategy for Wales\n\n\nWe are inviting third sector organisations and community groups across Cardiff to join the inaugural Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group\, alongside a forum to develop a collective third sector response to the Welsh Government’s draft Dementia Strategy for Wales 2026–2036.\n\n\n \nWhy a Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group?\nDuring 2025\, we supported seven organisations through our “Community Matters”: Living and Coping with Dementia programme. These organisations delivered impactful work in communities\, developed innovative approaches\, and reached people who might not otherwise access support. \nBuilding on this success\, we are committed to sustaining and strengthening partnerships across the third sector. We recognise the depth of expertise within Cardiff’s voluntary and community organisations and the vital role you play in supporting people with dementia. This reference group is intended to create a meaningful space where your expertise and the voices of people with lived experience can directly inform how dementia services are shaped\, commissioned\, and delivered. \n \nWhat the Inaugural Session Will Cover\n1. Establishing the Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group\nWe will work together to define how the group should operate and what it should prioritise. Organised by C3SC in partnership with Cardiff Central Library Hub\, the fair will bring together community schools\, and organisations supporting minority communities in Cardiff to showcase languages and cultures\, strengthen connections between communities\, and highlight the important role that multilingualism plays in the life of Cardiff.\n\n\n📍 Cardiff Central Library\n📅 Thursday\, 26 March 2026\n⏰ 4:00pm–6:00pm \nThis free event will showcase members of C3SC – the community schools that run on Saturdays or Sundays in Cardiff. DESCRIPTION:Join Us for the Inaugural Neurodivergence Action Group Meeting and Help Shape Neurodivergent Support Services in Cardiff\n\n\nThis initiative aligns with our commitment to developing a neurodivergent-friendly Cardiff and builds on learning from C3SC’s “Community Matters”: Supporting Neurodivergent Children and Families programme\, alongside a third sector forum on the draft Neurodivergent Cardiff strategy held in September 2025. \nThird sector organisations play a vital role in supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. We want to strengthen the sector’s collective voice and create a space where lived experiences and your insights can meaningfully shape service development. \n\n\n \nWhy a Neurodivergence Action Group?\nThe Neurodivergence Action Group will bring organisations together to shape services\, strengthen advocacy\, and build capacity. The group will focus on three core areas: \nShaping future development\nUsing findings from the “Community Matters” project and your frontline experience to identify priorities\, explore solutions\, and inform future projects and volunteering opportunities. The group will also help identify what support organisations need from C3SC. \nJoint advocacy and influencing services\nDeveloping shared positions and providing coordinated third sector input when statutory partners are developing services or policies\, ensuring lived experience has genuine influence on strategic decisions. \nBuilding organisational capacity and collaboration\nSupporting learning\, collaboration\, and sustainability through access to training\, peer learning\, shared resources\, and funding guidance. \n \nWhat the Inaugural Session Will Cover\nThe first meeting will focus on establishing how the Action Group should operate and what it should prioritise.
