SUMMARY:C3SC Joint Starting Well/Health\, Social Care and Well Being Network meeting
DESCRIPTION:Cardiff Third Sector Council will host a joint Starting Well/Health\, Social Care and Well Being Network meeting on Friday 12th December.\n\n\nC3SC Joint Starting Well/Health\, Social Care and Well Being Network meeting: Friday 12th December 10am-12pm \nCardiff Third Sector Council will host a joint Starting Well/Health\, Social Care and Well Being Network meeting on Friday 12th December. It will be a two hour in person session between 10am-12pm\, at Butetown Community Centre. \nThe meeting will feature a presentation from Anna Tee\, Partnership Programme Manager at Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board\, on a proposal to improve engagement from babies\, children and young people across the Starting Well Programme and a discussion session facilitated by C3SC. \nPlease join us to have your say on how the Regional Partnership Board’s Starting Well Programme can meet their commitment to hearing the voices of people with lived experience and improve co-production across their programmes of work\, and to help scope a new approach that has children and young people as active members. \nThe aim of this approach is to help the RPB’s Starting Well Programme: \n– Improve the opportunities for children and young people to have a meaningful role in shaping regional priorities and decisions that affect their lives.– Provide a means for input\, balance\, and a two-way conversation between the children\, young people and the organisations responsible for providing services.– Build on the strengths of established youth councils\, third sector networks\, and lived experience groups\, rather than creating new forums.– Embed co-production principles by involving children and young people as equal partners in governance and service design.– Recognise that while valuable\, the group may not fully represent all children and young people—particularly those less likely to engage with formal participation structures – so will avoid the traditional and potentially excluding meeting structures.– Enable members to share discussions with wider networks and bring collective insights back in to inform decision-making. \nAlongside opportunities for networking\, connection\, and learning from peers\, C3SC Forums are a great opportunity for Third Sector groups to meet up and receive up to date information from guest speakers and presenters\, provide insight and influence\, develop solutions to local challenges\, and make alliances. Network members are always welcome to share ideas and co-produce the meeting agenda on matters in which the sector can play an active role and provide solutions. Please email Thomas Crockett at thomas.c@c3sc.org.uk (Starting Well) or Duncan Innes at Duncan.i@c3sc.org.uk (Health and Well Being) with your suggestions of current or emerging items to discuss or explore at these meetings. \nFor any further enquiries\, please contact us on 07973 725335 or enquiries@c3sc.org.uk. \nWe look forward to seeing you!

SUMMARY:Inaugural Dementia Stakeholder Group and Forum
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group and Forum on the Draft Dementia Strategy for Wales\n\n\nWe are inviting third sector organisations and community groups across Cardiff to join the inaugural Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group\, alongside a forum to develop a collective third sector response to the Welsh Government’s draft Dementia Strategy for Wales 2026–2036.\n\n\n \nWhy a Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group?\nDuring 2025\, we supported seven organisations through our “Community Matters”: Living and Coping with Dementia programme. These organisations delivered impactful work in communities\, developed innovative approaches\, and reached people who might not otherwise access support. \nBuilding on this success\, we are committed to sustaining and strengthening partnerships across the third sector. We recognise the depth of expertise within Cardiff’s voluntary and community organisations and the vital role you play in supporting people with dementia. This reference group is intended to create a meaningful space where your expertise and the voices of people with lived experience can directly inform how dementia services are shaped\, commissioned\, and delivered. \n \nWhat the Inaugural Session Will Cover\n1. Establishing the Dementia Stakeholder Reference Group\nWe will work together to define how the group should operate and what it should prioritise. We are particularly keen to hear your views on: \n\nStructure and meeting frequency that would be most useful for your organisation.\nKey priorities you have identified through frontline work.\nSupport you need from C3SC\, including training\, funding guidance\, peer learning opportunities\, or other resources.\nNew projects or volunteering opportunities that C3SC should consider developing.\n\n2. Responding to the Welsh Government’s Draft Dementia Strategy\nThe Welsh Government has launched a consultation on a new Dementia Strategy for Wales 2026–2036. This presents a significant opportunity for the third sector to influence national policy. During the session\, we will: \n\nReview the draft strategy in the context of local community experience.\nIdentify strengths\, gaps\, and areas for improvement.\nConsider how effectively the strategy reflects lived experience\, service delivery realities\, and long-term vision.\nDevelop a coordinated third sector response to the consultation.\n\n \nWhy Participate?\nJoining the reference group gives you the opportunity to: \n\nInfluence the future design and commissioning of dementia services in Cardiff\, ensuring people with lived experience remain at the heart of service design and delivery.\nAccess peer learning and collaboration opportunities with other organisations supporting people with dementia.\nAmplify your collective voice to influence statutory decision-making.\n\nWe believe this group can make a real difference – both in shaping a strong response to the Welsh Government consultation and in building long-term influence over how dementia support develops in Cardiff. \n \nPractical Information\nAttendance is free\, but places must be booked in advance. \nRegistered attendees will receive a documentation pack including: \n\nAgenda for the inaugural meeting.\nProposed aims and structure of the Reference Group.\nDraft dementia strategy materials.\n\nFree parking will be available at the venue\, and refreshments will be provided. \n \nFor further information on the Welsh Government consultation\, including easy read and British Sign Language versions\, please visit: Draft dementia strategy for Wales 2026 to 2036. \nShould you have any questions about this event\, please contact:klavdija.e@c3sc.org.uk. We look forward to working with you to strengthen dementia support across Cardiff.
