SUMMARY:Meet the Funder Event: Sport Wales
DESCRIPTION:C3SC’s “Meet the Funder” Event will explore Sport Wales’ current funding opportunities. \n“Meet the Funder Event” hosted by Cardiff Third Sector Council \nSport Wales is the National organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales. There will be a presentation about their funds and grants which are available for Community Organisations\, Clubs\, Volunteers\, and Athletes. \nThe ‘Be Active Wales Fund’ will offer grants to help organisations grow participation from £300 to £50\,000 for funding needs such as:- \n\nSetting up a new team\nUpgrading your facilities\nReducing inequalities\n\n‘A Place for Sport in collaboration with Crowdfunder’ \nOffers help with any off-field projects to enhance the experience of sport\, make your club more environmentally friendly or financially sustainable by raising money for good causes and ideas\, while also helping your club or project to connect with your community. \nThe event will provide a great opportunity to hear from the funders about their grant eligibility criteria\, tips on applying\, the application process and timescale. SUMMARY:Recruiting\, Selecting and Inducting Volunteers
DESCRIPTION:This training will help you understand a range of methods to attract a diversity of volunteers and recognise selection as a two-way process. \nThe training will help you improve your knowledge on welcoming volunteers to your organisation. It would be suitable for volunteer managers\, coordinators\, supervisors\, team leaders and individuals who have responsibility for recruiting\, training and managing volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to apply and will be allocated a space\, on a first come first served basis. By the end of the course\, you will: \n\nBe familiar with a range of methods to attract a diversity of volunteers​\nRecognise ‘selection’ as a two ways process and be familiar with a range of selection tools​\nUnderstand the use of vetting procedures including DBS checks and recognise their limitations​\nMaking ‘the’ volunteer feel ‘welcomed’\nUnderstand the purpose and nature of volunteer agreements and volunteer induction​\nRecognise ways in which volunteering can be made more accessible to all\n\nDate: Wednesday 6th December 2023 \nTime: 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm \nThe training will be a hybrid event. In-person attendees will participate at Butetown Community Centre.
