SUMMARY:GVS Training: First Aid at Work (FAW) 3 Day Course in Barry
DESCRIPTION:Who should attend: People who want to receive more advanced training\, especially suited where a higher risk has been identified e.g. construction\, factories or sporting activities \nDuration: 3 days – Monday 30 April\, Tuesday 1 May and Wednesday 2 May from 9am – 4pm each day (Attendance is required for the full duration of the course). \nWhat will you learn: \n\nRoles and responsibilities of a first aider\, including dealing with incidents in a safe manner\nDealing with a breathing\nbut unresponsive casualty\nDealing with a casualty who is having a seizure\nRecognise cardiac arrest and perform CPR including the use of an AED\nAdminister first aid to a casualty with an airway obstruction\nAdminister first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.\nRecognise and treat a casualty in shock\nHow to treat a casualty with minor injuries. (Burns cuts\, bruises and splinters)\nHow to conduct a secondary survey on a casualty\nTreat a casualty with fractures\, dislocations\, sprains and strains.\nAdminister first aid to a casualty with head injuries\nHow to deal with a casualty with suspected spinal injuries\nAdminister first aid to casualties with chest injuries\nProvide first aid to a casualty with serious burns\nTreat a casualty with eye injuries/sudden poisoning\nRecognise and treat a casualty with anaphylaxis/suspected major illness (angina\, heart attack\, stroke\, asthma\, diabetes)\n\nAssessment: Multiple choice questions\, and continuous observation by the trainer \nQualification: Successful candidates will receive FAW certification for which is valid for three years. The qualification complies with current HSE Legislation. \nPhysical ability: Candidates must confirm that they are fit and well enough to partake in the physical elements \nID: Photographic ID must be shown to the trainer on the first day of the course \nDress code: Suitable clothing for practical activities which involves lying on the floor \nBook online through Eventbrite \nCost: £130 (normally £286.80)

DESCRIPTION:The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and confidence to take accurate\, and effective minutes. Holding meetings is the most common way we have for starting and developing work plans within our organisations\, but given the amount of time we spend of meetings\, they need to be run effectively and efficiently.
