DESCRIPTION:The next Prince’s Trust-Fairbridge Programme\, will commence in Cardiff\, on Monday 16th April 2018. \nA ‘Taster Day’ for the programme\, will be held on Wednesday 4th April 2018 at 11am\, when young people and referrers are invited to come along and find out more about the programme. SUMMARY:GVS Training: Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) 1 Day Course
DESCRIPTION:Who should attend: People who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller\, low risk working environments e.g. offices. \nThe day will cover: \n\nRoles and responsibilities of a first aider\, including dealing with incidents in a safe manner\nDealing with a breathing\nbut unresponsive casualty\nDealing with a casualty who is having a seizure\nRecognise cardiac arrest and perform CPR including the use of an AED\nAdminister first aid to a casualty with an airway obstruction\nAdminister first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.\nRecognise and treat a casualty in shock\nHow to treat a casualty with minor injuries. (Burns cuts\, bruises and splinters)\n\nAssessment: Multiple choice questions\, and continuous observation by the trainer \nQualification: Successful candidates will receive EFAW certification for which is valid for three years. The qualification complies with current HSE Legislation \nPhysical ability: Candidates must confirm that they are fit and well enough to partake in the physical elements \nID: Photographic ID must be shown to the trainer on the first day of the course \nDress Code: Suitable clothing for practical activities which involves lying on the floor \nBook online through Eventbrite \nCost: £50 (normal price £118.80)
