SUMMARY:BBC Children in Need Funding Surgery at C3SC
DESCRIPTION:C3SC is pleased to announce that a day of pre-booked appointments has been organised in collaboration with BBC Children in Need. \nThe opportunity to access this very popular funding programme is open to voluntary and community groups that work with disadvantaged children and young people. Groups serving Cardiff will be able to apply for a 30-minute appointment with James Bird\, a BBC Children in Need grants officer\, to discuss the eligibility and potential of a project proposal. Groups that wish to apply must be available for a 30-minute appointment between 10am and 5pm on Friday 18th March. There will be a maximum of ten appointments available on the day. \nTo apply for an appointment\, please forward an outline of your project proposal (no more than one side of A4) and your first and second choice appointment times (from the schedule below) to bookings@c3sc.org.uk Applications must be received by Friday 11th March; appointments will be confirmed by Tuesday 15th March. \n10:00am – 10:30am \n10:35am – 11:05am \n11:10am – 11:40am \n11.45am – 12:15pm \n12:20pm – 12.50pm \n14:00pm – 14:30pm \n14:35pm – 15:05pm \n15:10pm – 15:40pm \n15:45pm – 16:15pm \n16:20pm – 16:50pm \nBBC Children in Need supports stable\, well-managed\, and effective organisations that work with disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 years and under living in the UK (groups that work with people of all ages may also apply as long as the project is focused on work with those aged 18 and under). Disadvantaged children and young people include those affected by: \n\nillness\, distress\, abuse\, or neglect;\nany kind of disability;\nbehavioural or psychological difficulties;\nliving in poverty or situations of deprivation.\n\nThe application should focus on the children your project will work with and the differences that your project will make for them. You should be able to clearly demonstrate the link between the disadvantage and how your project will change the lives of the children involved for the better. Where possible it should take into account their views and involve them in decisions that affect them. \nLike many funders BBC Children in Need has a list of work that it will not fund as follows: \n\noverseas projects or trips;\nmedical treatment/research;\nunspecified expenditure;\ndeficit funding or repayment of loans;\nretrospective funding (projects taking place before the grant award date);\nprojects that cannot start within 12 months of an award date;\ndistribution to another/other organisation(s);\ngeneral appeals or endowment funds;\nrelief of statutory responsibility;\nthe promotion of religion;\nprojects for pregnancy testing or advice\, information or counseling on pregnancy choices;\nIndividuals (unless an eligible organisation is applying on their behalf);\nbuilding projects costing over £20\,000;\ngeneral awareness-raising work;\nbursaries\, sponsored places\, fees or equivalent.\n\nMain Grants of over £10\,000 can be awarded for up to three years at a time (with the exception of holidays/residentials which can only be funded for one year at a time). Small Grants of £10\,000 and under are awarded for one year only. \nOur funding is accessible all year round with Main Grant deadlines of 15 January\, 15 May and 15 September and Small Grant deadlines of 01 February\, 01 April\, 01 June\, 01 September and 01 December. \nTo help you check if you are eligible to apply for funding\, please read the following carefully: \n\napplicants must be a constituted not for profit group with a bank or building society account and at least two unrelated cheque signatories;\napplicants must have a written child protection policy;\napplicants must have adequate and appropriate insurance.\n\nMore information is available at: www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey \nEmail bookings@c3sc.org.uk
