SUMMARY:Care Council for Wales - Development of an agreed fitness to practice disciplinary\, capability and professional regulatory process in social work and social care in Wales
DESCRIPTION:The Care Council for Wales recently appointed Blue Turtle Consultants to carry out a piece of commissioned work\, on their behalf\, which entails the development of a process model for disciplinary\, grievance and capability investigations. In particular this project aims to support private and third sector employers. \nThe deliverables for the project will include a process model\, proforma documentation for use by employers for disciplinary\, grievance and capability processes (in relation to conducting investigations). \nIn order for the work to progress we would like to gain a better understanding of the current ‘practice’ in the social care sector across Wales\, and the challenges that you face in undertaking workplace investigations and fitness to practise referrals. \nBlue Turtle Consultants are seeking your help in gathering information that will shape the development of this work\, by asking providers to complete a questionnaire. We are also inviting providers to attend a focus group and following that when the resources have been developed\, we will be running pilot training sessions on how to use the new documentation before the resources are released to the wider social care sector. \nThe sessions are aimed at social care providers\, at owner/manager level and those within the organisation who have a responsibility for fitness to practise investigations or have responsibility for HR practise. \nFocus Group – Thursday 10th March 2016 – St Marys Golf Club Bridgend – 1 session with 30 places available – bookings close on 8th of March 2016 \nPilot Training 1 – Friday 15th April 2016 – Beaufort Park Hotel\, Mold – 2 sessions with 20 places each session available – bookings close on the 12th April 2016 \nPilot Training 2 – Thursday 21st April 2016 – St Marys Golf Club Bridgend – 2 sessions with 20 places each session available – bookings close on the 19th April 2016 \nPlaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis and are restricted to one person per organisation please. \nIf you would like to book a space at one of the events\, or return your completed questionnaire please email us on: \nblue-turtle-admin1@btconnect.com

SUMMARY:Fuel Poverty Stakeholder Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Community Action Partnership: Working together to tackle fuel poverty in Cardiff\nNational Energy Action Cymru\, the fuel poverty charity which campaigns to ensure everyone in Wales can afford to keep their house warm\, would like to invite you (or a representative) to attend an event to find out more about the support and assistance available to help your clients who may be struggling to pay their energy bills. The event is free to attend but places are limited and based on a first come\, first served basis.  \nNest is the Welsh Government’s Warm Homes scheme. It provides households on low incomes with access to a range of advice and support to help them reduce their energy bills. Since 2011\, over 68\,000 households in Wales have benefited from free advice and support\, and over 17\,700 of those households have benefited from free home energy improvements\, such as a new boiler\, central heating\, and insulation.   \nIn March 2015 the Welsh Government published an independent evaluation report of the Nest scheme. This report identified the marketing and targeting of the scheme to socially excluded groups as an area which needed improving.  The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of fuel poverty and encourage referrals from Cardiff amongst disadvantaged groups.    \nThe workshop is being organised by NEA Cymru and funded by British Gas as part of the Cardiff Community Action Partnership (CAP)\, a partnership approach to tackling fuel poverty across the City. Whilst almost 1 in 3 households in Wales are living in fuel poverty\, it is the most vulnerable householders who are most likely to be affected.  \nPlease request a programme and confirm your attendance by emailing Alison.powell@nea.org.uk
