DESCRIPTION:Three-day WCVA training course – delivered through the medium of Welsh \nAims: This ILM endorsed course provides opportunities for you to develop your supervisory skills and to enhance your confidence and ability to fulfil your line management responsibilities. \n\n\nContent:\nThis three-day course will focus on good practice in induction\, supervision\, appraisal\, managing performance\, staff support and team and individual development. The course will give opportunities for you to practice your supervision skills. The training methods will include presentation\, small group work\, discussion and practice\, all supported by a course work book. This course will enable you to put your newly enhanced knowledge and skills into practice back in your organisation\, project or community.\n\n\nLearning outcomes\nBy the end of the course participants will have:  \n\nExplored their management role and responsibilities.\nEnhanced their supervisory and appraisal skills.\nDeveloped their own induction checklist.\nConsidered effective ways of managing performance and motivation.\nIdentified a range of learning and development opportunities suited to their team.\nIdentified their own strengths\, weaknesses\, values and motivations.\n\n\nWho this course is for\nThis course is for those already in line management roles or for people who have recently moved into line management.\n\n\nAdditional information\nYou will need to commit to:  \n\n\nThe full 3-day course\nTo achieve the ILM award you will need to successfully complete the 3 short assignments following the course. Yet there are some brilliant services achieving amazing results in these austerity-driven times.   Supported by the Oak Foundation\, Shelter Cymru’s event\, Preventing homelessness: a seminar of good practice is bringing together some of the most innovative approaches to homelessness prevention from across Wales and the UK.   Shelter Cymru’s ‘Temporary Accommodation Survival Guide’\, a resource to help people cope and increase their chances of making it through to settled accommodation\, will be launched at the event. The young women of the Ty Seren hostel have had enough. \nWorking with Alcohol Concern and the ‘It’s the Drink Talking’ campaign\, they have created an innovative campaign ‘app’ for all young women seeking a safer way to enjoy a night out. \nCome along to celebrate their hard work at the campaign and app launch. The alcohol focused campaign ‘app’ highlights the problem of sexual exploitation and violence in Cardiff.
