SUMMARY:Working Together to Safeguard Children
DESCRIPTION:This is Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Local Safeguarding Children Board training aimed at those professionals who are likely to participate in Child Protection Conferences\, Child Protection Core Groups or Strategy Meetings\, or who support\, advise or supervise staff who may become involved in the child protection process. \nIt is an expectation that participants will have undertaken introductory level safeguarding children training prior to coming on this course. The LSCB does not provide introductory level training. This should be provided by your organisation/agency. \nDates:21st September 2015 – Cardiff \n5 additional dates pending \nTime: 9.30am – 4.30pm \n  \nCourse content:An update on relevant legislation\, guidance\, protocols and procedures; multi-agency working; appreciating own role and that of others; strategy meetings; child protection conferences and core groups; planning for children at risk of significant harm; the lessons from serious case reviews. \nThe course is not an introduction to safeguarding children and will not cover the legal framework for safeguarding children; the responsibilities of individuals and organisations; the signs of abuse; how to make a referral; or the response to referrals. \nThis training is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of trainers drawn from various agencies across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. \nTo book:For the Vale course:  Vale Training Centre Telephone: 01446 704713     Training Centre email: socialservicestraini@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk \nFor Cardiff courses:Cardiff Training Centre Telephone: (029) 2078 8444 Training Centre email: csbooking@cardiff.gov.uk \n1.    Nominations will be allocated to course places on a first come first served basis against any agreed Agency allocations. \n2.    Confirmation/Joining Instructions should be received by email approx. 2 weeks prior to the course commencing (If you do not receive joining instructions or have any questions\, please contact the administrator). \n3.    You will need your manager’s consent to book onto LSCB courses. \nDelegates are reminded that they are expected to remain for the full course hours to receive a certificate of attendance.Please note that cancellation/non-attendance charges may apply to courses.
