SUMMARY:International Treatment Effectiveness Project Training
DESCRIPTION:International Treatment Effectiveness Project (ITEP) is a mechanism by which quality of drug treatment can be developed and measured in order to improve delivery of treatment services. It uses mind maps as a visual cognitive tool to help clients organise their thoughts and goals easily\, by focusing on images and association. \nThis NewLink Wales training course focuses on the two approaches that are designed to be delivered by key workers as part of their client work sessions. This model of psychosocial interventions provides evidence based and easily evaluated tools for use by key workers across the drug treatment system and throughout the health and social care sector. \nPrice: \nVoluntary Sector WORKERS- £125.00 Statutory Sector WORKERS – £135.00 This includes facilitation\, handouts\, refreshments and a buffet lunch. \n  \nBy the end of the course participants will have: \n\nIdentify what International Treatment Effectiveness Project (ITEP) is and what it involves.\nExplain the use of free mapping and structured mapping for personal use\, service user work and supervision settings.\nExamine the use of mind maps\, ways of thinking and cycles in motivation\, bringing about change and the development of care plans.\nSelect the appropriate maps to practice use to maximise confidence and adapt to current and future working roles.\n\nBook here

SUMMARY:Tackling poverty in Wales - early intervention\, welfare reform and routes out of poverty
DESCRIPTION:Timed to follow the recently published Welsh Government annual progress report on its Tackling Poverty Action Plan 2012-2016\, and informed by the inquiry into Poverty in Wales being undertaken by the National Assembly’s Communities\, Equality and Local Government Committee\, this seminar will focus on next steps for policies to reduce and prevent poverty in Wales. \nPlanned sessions discuss progress and remaining challenges for the Welsh Government’s anti-poverty measures such as Communities First\, early intervention programmes including Families First and Flying Start\, and efforts to tackle poverty through skills and work-based training.
