SUMMARY:Solution Focused Brief Therapy
DESCRIPTION:This NewLink Wales course will provide a thorough induction to the principles and practices of solution focused brief therapy. The course is aimed at people working in care and support services. It will be tailored to match the needs of participants from a variety of different backgrounds including health\, education\, and social care and counselling. \n It is suitable for anyone who would like to enhance their therapeutic toolkit and range of communication strategies.  It is a practical course designed to get you working with the skills and over the two days there will be numerous exercises and plenty of time for reflection on your own caseloads. We will work at times within a peer supervision model\, discussing your own cases and current experiences whilst applying the solution focused tools you are learning.  SFBT techniques will help you structure conversations with service users in a positive and future focused way\, helping to avoid ‘stalemate’ and problem talk.
