DESCRIPTION:A morning of innovative delivery of safeguarding training\nSafeguarding Adults: It’s everybody’s businessThe protection of vulnerable adults against psychological\, sexual\, emotional\, physical and financial abuse is powerfully explored in this unique interactive workshop. \nSessions are designed around carefully researched case studies exploring situations which have led to the abuse of adults. Drama and discussion are used to approach the issues faced by frontline staff and managers in an accessible way\, inspiring and shaping new conversations about how best to respond in situations where adults are at risk. \nDrawing directly from National and Local Safeguarding Policies and Procedures for Adults\, Dignity in Care guidance and the Serious Case Review into the death of Steven Hoskin\, the three-hour workshop develops  essential awareness of the individual roles and responsibilities of all staff and managers with regard to:· Recognising Abuse· Reporting Abuse· Preventing Abuse \nWe are passionate about the live experience and our skilled actors and facilitators create scenarios which challenge perceptions and communicate critical messages with lasting impact. SUMMARY:Understanding Digital Teens - Safety\, Supervision and Sharing
DESCRIPTION:A one-day Children in Wales course \nA non-sensationalist approach that looks at the evidence and examines the risks and benefits of internet use\, as well as looking at the practical ways to help parents and workers to support young people to stay safe online. The course is divided into two parts. The first looks at the opportunities and threats around teenager’s use of the internet and examines the conflicting and sometimes contradictory evidence. The second looks at the practical ways in which adults can support and protect young people including; setting parental controls\, use of passwords\, how to record and report incidents and helping children and young people identify risks and to protect themselves. \nTopics include: \n\nWhat are teens up to on the internet?\nUnderstanding Social Networking\, its risks and why it is so important to the lives of modern teenagers.\nDo violent games make children violent?\nSex\, abuse and the internet\nLife style blogs; pro-ana\, self-harming and suicide sites\nInternet addiction\, does it exist and how should it be treated?\nHow internet illiterate adults can help tech-savvy teens grow up safely in a digitally connected world\n\nSuitable for all those working with teenagers and their families in non-structured settings including; Communities First\, Families First\, youth workers\, afterschool clubs and play workers as well as foster carers and parents. \nBook via the Children in Wales website.
