DESCRIPTION:The issue of Community Asset Transfer is currently a hot topic for both the statutory and third sector. \nWith this in mind WCVA\, in partnership with BIG Lottery Fund Wales\, Coalfields Regeneration Trust\, Communities First\, Community Land Advisory Service\, DTA Wales\, Empower SVS\, GAVO\, Geldards\, One Voice Wales\, Unity Trust Bank\, Wales Audit Office\, Wales Co-operative Centre\, Welsh Government and WLGA\, is holding a national event on the subject. \nThe event will address the following issues: \n\nHow do voluntary organisations best prepare themselves for the opportunity of Community Asset Transfer\nUnderstanding the work involved in taking over facilities\, land and buildings and how to run them as vibrant and viable enterprises\nHow does the local community become engaged in this process?\nWhat are the risks and barriers to Community Asset Transfer and how are these overcome\nFunding mechanisms for asset transfer\, and for ensuring the continuation of services\nHow to develop the enterprising mindset and skill sets necessary to run the asset sustainably\nAsset or liability?
