SUMMARY:Experiencing Dementia
DESCRIPTION:Target group: Managers and senior staff working in social care. \nEvery training course Re-Live design and deliver is experiential. This dynamic and practical way of learning allows trainees to hold on to information\, acquire new skills and build confidence. Evidence shows that experiential training is more likely to bring about a deeper change in attitudes\, and greater development of compassion than more traditional training methods. \nThis one day training course is aimed at people who want to gain a deeper insight into dementia. \nThe training will: \n\nDevelop trainees ability to empathise with a person with dementia\nEquip trainees with a better understanding of the experience of a person living with dementia\nExplore the emotional and psychological impact of dementia on those diagnosed and those caring for someone with dementia\nGuide trainees through a series of experiential exercises which provide a unique insight into dementia\nProvide a space for trainees to share practice and reflect on their experiences of working in the field of dementia care\n\nA Certificate of Attendance and a workbook will be issued. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. \nRegistration and refreshments from 9am.
