SUMMARY:Getting People Talking
DESCRIPTION:A Diverse Cymru one-day training course\nThis very practical course is intended to help people who facilitate meetings\, involvement events\, discussion or focus groups\, seminars or workshops to create the conditions that will enable people to contribute and find the whole experience rewarding. \nWhy attend? \nHave you ever left a meeting or event wishing more people had spoken up about an issue or concern? Various reasons can prevent people from doing so. As a facilitator you want all participants to feel that they were able to make a worthwhile contribution.  Very often more is required than just saying ‘feel free’ to speak up\, or saying ‘what do you think?’ \nThe course has lots of practical tips for how to encourage people to say what is on their minds. \nSimilarly some people are excluded from events (for example disabled people\, older people and people from ethnic minorities) because their different needs are not taken into account in how the meeting is run. \nThe course will give you lots of ideas about how to organise and run accessible and inclusive meetings in ways that enable all the people present to be involved\, so that meetings are more creative\, productive and enjoyable. \nFind out more and book your place via the Diverse Cymru website.

SUMMARY:Free introductory training session for Third Sector Organisations - The implications and opportunities of The Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Bill
DESCRIPTION:The Wellbeing of Future Generations Bill builds upon the Government of Wales Act and the sustainable development scheme One Wales One Planet. It has the potential to affect the way that public bodies interact with the voluntary sector. \nIt is a further step to embedding sustainable development principles as the Welsh way of doing things. \nAt the same time\, big business and leading brands are re-organising their whole business model along sustainable development principles establishing working partnerships with charities and social enterprises of both local and global significance. \n Sustainable development is fundamental to the ethos and mission of the voluntary sector in Wales. Managers and trustees of charities and voluntary organisations need to understand the implications of the Future Generations Bill and the emerging culture of sustainability to enhance their chances of long-term success. \nFree Introductory morning training sessions from Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales Cynnal Cymru is a charity that has been at the forefront of sustainable development in Wales since 2002\, working in partnership with The Welsh Government\, WCVA\, One Voice Wales\, The WLGA and others to facilitate understanding and support practical action. \nCynnal Cymru has a mature approach to training and professional development and have provided learning opportunities for Communities First Partnerships\, through WCVA to Third Sector organisations and One Voice Wales as well as social enterprises and private business. In 2015 they will be working with WCVA to help members understand the implications of the Future Generations Bill and the opportunities available through interaction with the Sustainable Development Charter network. \n To celebrate the launch of the Wales We Want report in March\, they will be holding a number of free taster sessions (one of them being in Cardiff) in partnership with WCVA to enable third sector organisationsto begin to engage with the concept of sustainable development and translate it into practical benefits for their organisation. \n Learning Outcomes By participating in the event\, members will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the connections between the goals of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Bill (FG Bill) and the principles of sustainable development\nAnalyse the implications of the FG Bill’s statutory duty and how this might affect their organisation\nReflect on their organisation’s performance and wider impacts\nReflect on and identify potential for partnerships with other organisations particularly within the context of the Sustainable Development Charter\nIdentify steps for further learning and organisational development
