SUMMARY:A Fair Say
DESCRIPTION:Research has shown that parents with a learning disability are significantly more likely to have their children taken into care or placed for adoption than other parents. \nParents with learning disabilities often experience their views and voices not being heard\, this can be of critical importance to them and their children during care proceedings. \nThis Learning Disability Wales event will hear directly from parents about problems and successes they have had in having their voices heard. \nDelegates will hear from legal experts about what the law says on parents voices in care proceedings. \nWe will also hear from advocacy practitioners about their experiences of providing advocacy and lay representation\, its importance and the barriers parents face. \nFind out more and book your place via the Learning Disability Wales website.
