DESCRIPTION:This conference is an opportunity for counsellors and those working with children and young people to extend and develop their knowledge and skills. There is a programme of workshops\, keynote speakers and networking opportunities during the day.There are contracted leading professionals to deliver workshops and share their experience of working with children and young people this will include:– working with children and young people who are estranged from one or both parents and the effect of damaged attachments– understanding and working appropriately with young people who self harm– working creatively to develop an effective therapeutic relationship with a young person– working with children and young people to develop resilience and confidence to stop and think and find positive solutions– practical and creative ways of supporting a young person through bereavement \nFind out more on the Cardiff Gate Counselling Services website: www.cardiffgatecounsellingservices.bacp.co.uk  \nThe cost of the conference is £100 per person (includes refreshments and lunch). \n

DESCRIPTION:Sadly\, even democratic and peaceful societies are not immune to prejudice and violence. With the anti-immigration views expressed by some media and politicians in the lead up to the elections\, there is growing hostility and discrimination towards many communities. \nCome and celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination with Race Equality First and learn about the facts as well as the concerns around immigrants\, migration and asylum seekers in Wales. \nThe event will include presentations and workshops to celebrate our multicultural society and explore the opportunities and challenges of immigration.
