SUMMARY:South Wales Fuel Poverty Forum
DESCRIPTION:NEA Cymru invites you to attend their spring Fuel Poverty Forum in Cardiff. The forums (there’s one in North Wales too) have grown from strength to strength and are the recognised Welsh network in which to raise awareness of fuel poverty and to discuss solutions to the problem. \nWhy attend?Spring’s focus will be on pre-payment and smart metering. By the end of 2013\, there were more than 4 million pre-payment meters in Britain and over 3 million gas PPM accounts; an increase of 4% and 6% respectively compared to 2012. Pre-payment customers are still getting a raw deal and less than 1% of PPM customers who tried to switch supplier in 2013 were successful. \nBy attending the forum\, you will have the opportunity to:– Learn more about Citizens Advice’s ‘Fair Play for Prepay’ campaign;– Consider whether smart meters will lead to improvements for PPM customers;– Debate and influence the fuel poverty policy agenda in Wales;– Network with different organisations;– Highlight best practice and plant seeds for future collaboration. \nWith speakers from:Citizens Advice Cymru; Smart Energy GB; Happy Energy Ltd; SWALEC; NEALunch and refreshments will be provided. \nTo book your FREE place\, please contact tracy.norris@nea.org.ukThe South Wales forum is being supported by Happy Energy Ltd.
