SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid (Wales)
DESCRIPTION:Two-day Diverse Cymru course\nMHFA (Wales) is a 12 hour course which is funded and supported by the Welsh Government and its partners include the Public Health Wales\, Health Challenge Wales and Mind Cymru. MHFA is in 21 countries in the world. The idea of MHFA is that people should be taught how to perform basic ‘first aid’ for those exhibiting signs of mental distress\, just as they are commonly taught first aid for physical problems. MHFA improves mental health literacy and helps people to recognise the signs and symptoms of someone with mental health problems; to respond to various mental health crises\, engage with\, support and signpost people to appropriate professional help. \nFind out more at http://www.diversecymrutraining.org.uk/mental-health-first-aid/

SUMMARY:South East Wales Participation Network event
DESCRIPTION:Free event \nMany established and emerging online tools are completely free to set up and use so it’s an excellent way to engage and be productive without breaking the bank – but which tools do you find the most effective for your organisation’s engagement work? In the Participation Cymru’s regional participation network in February we will discuss and explore how organisations are using online tools to communicate\, share and engage with each other\, services users and members of the public. We will also explore any potential barriers to using online tools\, the pros and cons of different platforms and managing difficult situations. These events have a limited number of spaces available and fill up quickly\, book now and don’t miss out!  \nThe regional participation networks are suitable for anyone working in the field of participation and citizen engagement. Attendees come from a range of different organisations in the public and third sector that focus on a variety of issues. The events are suitable for anyone from any level within an organisation that has an interest in practical participatory work\, including consultation officers\, trustees\, volunteers\, development workers and managers. DESCRIPTION:  \nThis course explores ways to work with your community more effectively.  Many organisations seek to work closely with communities to improve local services and opportunities. Sometimes it can be difficult to get community members involved.  During this session you will discover how to overcome barriers to participation – creating strong\, inclusive campaigns and services.
