SUMMARY:Dignity at Work
DESCRIPTION:A half-day Diverse Cymru course\nAccording to the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development\, (2014) ‘Bullying is bad for employees and their organisations. Not only does it cost  the UK in the region of 80 million lost days\, it also accounts for at least half the occurrences of work-related stress. For the employee exposed to bullying\, the impact can be devastating and can cause significant mental health and social problems’.  \nWhy attend? \nBullying and Harassment is often named in training sessions as ‘Dignity at Work’\, but what does this mean for individuals and organisations? This short course will assist you to recognise: \n\nHow you can promote a culture of dignity and respect in the workplace.\nTo also minimise incidents of unacceptable behaviour becoming issues which cause stress to the individual and have an effect on the organisation.\nIt will help you to know what to do if bullying and harassment do occur.\n\nWho should attend? \nThis course is appropriate for anyone who has responsibility for ensuring the wellbeing of others at work\, for example\, line managers\, health and safety representatives\, and human resources. SUMMARY:Advanced Substance Misuse Awareness
DESCRIPTION:Limited number of fully funded spaces available to practitioners working within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. \nAt a small additional charge\, this 2-day NewLink Wales course can be accredited through Agored Cymru gaining 3 credits and level 3 on the Quality Assured Lifelong Learning Framework for Wales. \nThis course is aimed at people who have completed NewLink Wales’ Substance Misuse Awareness course and it may also be suitable for people who have some knowledge of substance misuse already. The course will describe the effects of commonly used substances and analyse the risks surrounding the misuse of substances. It will identify the main methods of drug use and explore some harm reduction techniques.
