SUMMARY:Enterprise and Collaboration in Community Sport in Wales Conference
DESCRIPTION:A one-day event focussing on how Welsh community sports providers can meet the challenges and benefit from new opportunities created by changes in people’s lives\, the political landscape and the economic situation \nEconomic challenges\, a changing political landscape and the rise of the ‘demanding’ consumer and the ever-growing use of mobile and social media are just a few of the factors which are affecting our ability to deliver community sport in a sustainable way in Wales. \nAt the same time we are experiencing a number of innovative and efficient providers who are indeed leading the way and managing to deliver exciting and welcoming activities\, working with sport and non-sport partners and delivering great benefits. \nThere are already considerable opportunities for community sport and physical activity to have a major impact on the local economy\, physical and mental health\, training and education\, social cohesion\, crime and social behaviour\, and all in all\, help build stronger communities. This calls for genuine collaboration between community sport and physical activity and a wide range of non-sports partners across Wales. \nSo how do we deliver great\, sustainable community sport and physical activity without compromising our sporting and community objectives? \nHow do we provide great customer experiences whilst at the same time meeting the strategic objectives of external partners and funders\, whether they are from within sport or from health\, education\, regeneration or community services? How do we grow the number of active people in Wales by ‘listening to their lives’ and ‘speaking their language’? \nThis conference focuses on these issues\, highlights best practice and provides thoughts\, tools and to-dos on how you too can become a sustainable community sports provider. \nThis is not a conference packed with policy presentations. The aim is that people will leave the event knowing they have heard some great practical ideas and having learned how to make positive changes of their own. \nDelegate Fees \nStandard rate: £145 per delegate (includes conference material\, tea/coffee and lunch) \nCommunity rate: £90 per delegate (includes conference material\, tea/coffee and lunch). This rate applies only to smaller community groups and clubs. \nThe organisers reserve the right to decide on eligibility.

SUMMARY:Cardiff Networking and information sharing event
DESCRIPTION:The Wales for Africa programme is changing \nThe Hub and partners at the Sub Saharan Advisory Panel\, Wales for Africa Health Links Network and Wales Africa Community Links are hitting the road this June. \nYou’re invited to an informal networking event over food and drinks to meet other groups and individuals taking action on global poverty in your local area. \nIt’ll be an opportunity to discuss the issues relevant to your group or organisation and consider how future changes to the Welsh Government’s Wales for Africa programme may affect you and your projects. \nThey anticipate the change in the programme could shift the support which is currently available to you:    \n – funding\,  – advice on development practice and organizational development\, – resources\,  – networking opportunities\,  – training and events \nIt could also mean that there will be changes to the organisations and projects that currently provide support\, advice and funding\, including the Hub\, Community Links\, Health Links and the Sub Saharan Advisory Panel. \nThey would like to hear your thoughts about what has been meaningful and the most supportive for you in what you are trying to achieve. They’d also like to know what you propose they could do differently. \nAs independent civil society project staff\, the Hub’s Hannah (managed by the WCIA)\, Health Links’ Beth and SSAP’s Fadhili\, (based at the Temple of Peace\, Cardiff)) and Wales Africa Community Links’ Craig\, Ed and Edie (managed by WCVA\, Cardiff Bay) want to hear your thoughts so they can carry them into our joint proposal to the Welsh Government for the next phase of the Wales Africa Programme. \nThe current Wales for Africa programme ends in March 2015 and they intend to work together to submit a proposal to Welsh Government in August/September if\, as anticipated\, they issue a call for funding proposals to continue partnership working in Wales from April 2015.  \nThese informal open dialogue sessions\, will also be a chance to meet and connect with other groups over the issues that are most important to you and will shape future events like this. \nBook online here.
