SUMMARY:Devolution in Wales – the work of the Silk Commission
DESCRIPTION:Cymru Yfory and the UK’s Changing Union project have come together to ensure that groups in Wales understand and engage with the work of the Silk Commission on devolution in Wales\, and are able to consider the implications for their work.  \nThe Commission has so far issued a report into Wales’ finances and made recommendations around the devolution of further powers\, including police and transport.  \nThis free seminar will allow groups to get the information they need on how the Commission’s recommendations could affect them. SUMMARY:Personal Independence Payment
DESCRIPTION:This full-day Child Poverty Action Group course for advisers will examine the replacement of disability living allowance (DLA) for adults by a new ‘personal independence payment’ (PIP) from April 2013. Fully updated the course includes the final version of the PIP assessment regulations published in November 2012.   \nPIP will replace DLA for working age clients from April 2013 onwards. With a different  structure to DLA and a completely new assessment criteria this course is essential for anyone advising sick or disabled clients. The course uses practical examples to enable advisers to identify who can qualify for PIP and how they will be assessed. \nThe course covers: \n – who can claim PIP – the structure of  the benefit – the assessment criteria and process; – claims\, awards and appeals; – the migration of existing DLA claimants onto PIP. \nNOTE: The course is suitable for anyone wanting to get to grips with the detail of PIP\, including experienced advisers who want to update their knowledge. \nFind out more and book your place via the CPAG website.

SUMMARY:Scratch That Itch at Sherman Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Scratch That Itch returns to the Sherman Theatre for a second time on Thursday 19 June\, this time to celebrate Refugee Week. Scratch That Itch is a scratch performance event offering an opportunity to theatre companies\, performers and writers to show pieces of work in the very early stages of development.  The evening also provides the audience with a chance to give feedback on the work they have seen in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. \nScratch That Itch at the Sherman promises a varied evening of new and original pieces of work\, which may include spoken word\, dance\, new writing and comedy. There is no need to book in advance\, entry is free and the bar will be open all evening; some food and drink will be provided. \nAnyone interested in showing come work should email letmescratchthatitch@gmail.com \nSlots are 10 mins max. \nScratch That Itch and Sherman 5 at Sherman Cymru are working in partnership to develop this event with the ambition to support a range of diverse artists/performers.
