SUMMARY:Effective Communication with People with a Learning Disability
DESCRIPTION:This course aims to help those that work with people with a learning disability play a role in helping those they support live their life to the full and be included. \nThe Learning Disability Wales course will do this by working with delegates on the concepts and techniques which underpin and make possible effective communication with people with a learning disability. \nThe course follows a Total Communication approach and delegates are introduced to an extensive selection of communication techniques that can be used in addition to the spoken word and adapted according to the communication skills of the individual in question. \nDelegates will have the opportunity to develop their communication skills\, and learn about a range of communication concepts and techniques that can be used to facilitate effective communication with people with a learning disability. \nInteractive activities and exercises allow participants to explore the various communication techniques and to discuss and reflect upon ways of incorporating them into their work. \nRead more and book your place.

DESCRIPTION:Introduced in pathfinder areas from April 2013 and rolled out nationally from October 2013\, universal credit (UC) will transform the current means-tested benefits and tax credit systems. This CAB ourse will look in-depth at the detailed rules\, including how entitlement is assessed and the claims and administration procedures. SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid (Wales)
DESCRIPTION:Two-day Diverse Cymru course \nMHFA (Wales) is a 12 hour course which is funded and supported by the Welsh Government and its partners include the Public Health Wales\, Health Challenge Wales and Mind Cymru. MHFA is in 21 countries in the world. The idea of MHFA is that people should be taught how to perform basic ‘first aid’ for those exhibiting signs of mental distress\, just as they are commonly taught first aid for physical problems.
