DESCRIPTION:NewLink Wales delivered the Welsh Government contract in 2010\, to help build the local protocols between substance misuse and domestic abuse services. Voluntary Sector WORKERS- £140.00 Statutory Sector WORKERS – £150.00 This includes facilitation\, handouts\, refreshments\, and a buffet lunch \n This course is designed for practitioners who are working with individuals who are in an abusive relationship and have the added complexity of substance misuse. \n The course will consider the following:   \n – Types of abuse and why individuals stay in an abusive relationship \n – How substances can affect an abusive relationship – Impact domestic abuse has on children and the family – Support and referral pathways \n Learning Outcomes:  By the end of the course participants will be able to:  \n – Define the different forms of abuse \n – Analyse why individuals remain in an abusive relationship – Describe the impact that substance misuse has to individuals in an abusive relationship – Recognise the risks associated with individuals fleeing abusive situations where substance misuse is involved – Recognise the impact that co-occurring parental substance misuse and domestic abuse has on the family – Identify appropriate referral pathways and service provision

SUMMARY:Understanding How to Safeguard the Welfare of Children and Young People
DESCRIPTION:Accredited Training Level 2 through Agored Cymru \nA one-day Children in Wales course aimed at anyone working directly or indirectly with children and young people in a wide range of workplace and community settings. The purpose of the training is to give participants confidence and essential knowledge on how to safeguard the children and young people in their environment.  \nThe training is accredited through Agored Cymru and participants will need to complete assessments to demonstrate learning. Upon successful completion of an assignment the participant will achieve 3 credits at Level 2. DESCRIPTION:This Tros Gynnal Plant course aims to enable non-advocacy practitioners working with children and young people to identify and develop their skills\, knowledge and understanding around Advocacy.  Learners will be supported  to develop understanding around the formal advocacy element of their role enable them to demonstrate that they are acting  in accordance with Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) through accreditation of practice-based evidence.  \n  \nSuitable for \nAnyone working with children and young people will\, at some point\, act as a Formal Advocate by supporting them to express their views and wishes. This course is accredited by Agored Cymru and offers 7 credits at level 3\, therefore in order to fulfil the practice-based evidence requirements learners should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of direct work with children and /or young people.
