DESCRIPTION:This Learning Disability Wales course will help you work towards delivering personalised services by using One Page Profiles. \nDuring the day you will: \n – Develop the skills to use person centred thinking tools needed to develop a one page profile – Learn how to act on the profile – Gain an understanding of how using person centred thinking and one page profiles can help to deliver personalised services \n     \nDesigned for: \nThis course is for people who provide direct support\, their managers\, professionals\, parents and carers or those requiring an overview of the core person centred thinking tools. \n   \nCourse includes:• how to use person centred thinking tools to develop one page profi les with people supported and others who are present in their lives; by idenifying and separating what is important to someone from what is important for them• ensuring that the one page profi le develops and grows• using learning logs based on what individuals are telling us is working and not working in their lives and the importance of the process being reviewed \n – recording how someone communicates through using a communication chart – how a one page profile can be the beginning and the foundation of a support plan – how to decide which person centred thinking tools to use to develop a one page profile into a person centred essential lifestyle plan or a support plan

SUMMARY:Take control of your charity's finances
DESCRIPTION:These WCVA seminar double-headers aim to give you the tools and tips you need to get to grips with your charity’s finances. \nMorning session: Charity accounts for trustees (9am – 12.30pm) \nCharities have to cope with serious financial pressures\, so it’s vital that trustees have a reasonable understanding of charity accounts and the financial information that they need to exercise proper governance.  \n  \nThis seminar will point you in the right direction and clarify many puzzles: \n – A simple overview of the key elements of charity accounts – types of fund\, activity based reporting\, SOFAS\, etc – Common errors in charity accounts as reported by the Charity Commission – What financial information should a trustee have to do the job properly \nLunch will be provided following the seminar. \n  \nAfternoon session: Financial management for trustees – adapting to survive (1.00pm – 4.30pm) \nIn times of financial pressure it is vital that charity trustees recognise how important it is for them to be in  control of their finances\, and learn to adapt in order to survive. This session will explain in practical terms exactly what this means and will explore possible strategies to help you not only survive\, but prosper. We’ll help you lay the foundations of good financial management and examine the benefits of collaboration\, mergers and how to respond to reduced or removed funding streams. \n  \nLunch will be provided before the seminar\, at 12.30pm. \n  \nIn a tough economic climate you need all the know-how you can get to help your charity overcome its financial pressures\, so make sure you book your place on these seminars fast. \n  \nCosts: \nWCVA Members: £15 to attend an individual seminar\, or £20 to attend both. \nNon-members: £25 to attend an individual seminar\, or £45 to attend both. \n
