DESCRIPTION:As part of the Safer Future Communities Project\, WCVA is organising free training: An introduction to tendering  \nFunding streams for community safety in Wales are changing and grant funding is becoming more challenging to secure. Third sector organisations increasingly need to diversify their income sources by incorporating strategies and techniques to achieve a sustainable funding base. Tendering for the delivery of services under the terms of a contract is one option that can be considered to generate income. \nThis short introductory course is intended to provide a brief overview of tendering in this context. \nThe course aims: \n – To improve understanding of the differences between grants and contracts – To increase knowledge in the area of procurement – To better understand the process of tendering for a contract

SUMMARY:Cardiff and Vale Substance Misuse Area Planning Board Final Consultation
DESCRIPTION:Thank you to everyone that attended the Cardiff and Vale Substance Misuse Commissioning Strategy consultation day at City Hall on 8th February. The day was extremely successful with a great deal of positive input from all involved.  \nThe consultation period ends on 26th March 2013 and as such the APB will be holding a final consultation event that day\, with lunch provided. \nThe final session will give an overview of what comments and feedback have been received to date\, and how these have been incorporated into the strategy document in preparation for final publication. Attendees will also have the chance to find out what steps will be taken with regards to implementation of the new strategy in the coming months.  \nIf you would like to attend the event on 26th March please email smaidment@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk – places are limited.
