SUMMARY:Cardiff BookTalk - 'Rebecca' by Daphne Du Maurier
DESCRIPTION:Rebecca\, famed for the first line ‘Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again’\, is a twentieth century classic which explores the life of a nameless narrator after her marriage to the mysterious Maxim de Winter. A whirlwind courtship in the French Riviera sweeps this unnamed narrator into the cobwebbed world of Manderly estate\, beneath which murder\, romance and betrayal continue to haunt the lives of the living.Cardiff BookTalk is a book group with a difference! They listen to experts on great literature and then explore the big themes from the novel in a lively discussion.Join them for a drink as they uncover the themes in Rebecca that have made it a timeless classic.
