SUMMARY:The Social Enterprise Exchange
DESCRIPTION:Social Enterprise UK and the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition (SSEC) have joined forces to host what will be the world’s biggest social enterprise event. The Social Enterprise Exchange will take place on Tuesday 27 March 2012 at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow. \n  \nThe Social Enterprise Exchange will host over 1000 delegates and 150 business exhibitors in one pavilion in this iconic Scottish venue\, providing a platform  for “exchange” of \, knowledge and best practice and a unique opportunity to trade and do good business. The event will will also cater for those working in the public\, private and voluntary sectors interested in social enterprise policy and practice.

SUMMARY:5 Things Every Small Charity Needs to Know about Fundraising
DESCRIPTION:  \nWe are delighted to announce that the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) in Wales is funding three small charity training days\, delivered by the Institute of Fundraising (IoF)\, during March 2012. \n  \nAimed specifically at charities with voluntary incomes under £1 million\, this series of courses is aimed at building the fundraising skills of smaller organisations. The two topics will be: \nBuilding an effective case for support \nRaising funds from the local community and events \nFor more information on the course outlines please visit the news section of our website at www.frsb.org.uk. \n The programme schedule  \nEach course will ensure that delegates are fully conversant with fundraising regulation and best practice as well as giving them an excellent grounding in each of the relevant areas. \n  \nWho should attend this session?Each course is suitable for members of staff or volunteers who have responsibility for fundraising in your organisation.  \nThe only restriction is that your organisation must have a voluntary income of under £1 million. \n  \nLearning outcomes \nBy the end of the session fundraisers will be able to: \nIdentify potential sources of income from within local communities \nUnderstand the joys and challenges of working with volunteers \nUse event planning tools \n  \nWhat will be covered? \nGetting started: the law\, best practice and ‘the rules’ \nFinding and researching potential sources of income locally \nDeveloping and identifying projects for support \nEvent planning and management \nFollowing up and strengthening relationships \n  \nHow to book \nPlaces are limited to 15 per course so book now to secure your place. The courses cost only £20 per day for FRSB members and organisations that apply for FRSB membership at the time of booking. The fee for non‐FRSB participants is £50.
