SUMMARY:Domestic Abuse Awareness
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe aim of this course is to raise awareness of domestic abuse and its incident rates in society\, and to enable participants to feel comfortable when referring individuals to appropriate agencies who can provide help and support. \nBy the end of the training\, participants should have an understanding of what domestic abuse is\, how prevalent it is in society and how to confidently refer on to specialist domestic abuse service providers. \nCourse facilitator: Sandra Holliday\, Cardiff Women’s Aid.

DESCRIPTION:The title of this Child Accident\, Prevention\, Practice and Information Exchange (CHAPPIE) Network event is called Resources\, Tools and Ideas for Child Safety Week – Helping You Plan & Evaluate Your Events The event will be jointly delivered by Karen McFarlane\, Children in Wales and the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT). The aim of the workshop is to help you plan effective child safety activities and to arm you with ideas and resources for your events. These resources will not only be useful for Child Safety Week in June\, but for your other child safety activities throughout the year. The workshop will include: \n – How to organise your event – what to think about\, your target audience\, how to market your activity and effective ways to evaluate it – Practical ideas for topics and activities – Resources for your activities\, including complete session plans for parenting groups\, quizzes\, handouts\, bilingual child safety literature\, and much more – The opportunity to view all of the resources available to you from Wales and the UK – Sharing and learning from the experiences of other practitioners Who should attend?Whether you want to plan a simple poster display or a group session\, a ‘one-off’ activity or a programme of child safety\, this FREE workshop will help you achieve your goal more easily. Everybody is welcome to attend\, whether you are a CHAPPIE member or not.
