DESCRIPTION:  \nThis NewLink Wales course is aimed at people who are currently involved with the CJS\, i.e. probation officers\, youth offending teams\, prison staff\, court liaison workers\, DIP staff as well as people who may be working within the CJS\, with people who use substances and are looking to increase their knowledge around the dual area of substances and offending behaviour. \nThe content will include: \n1. Information around the structure of the Criminal Justice System2. The signs and effects of the commonly used substances3. The impact that substance use has on the Criminal Justice System4. Assessment and questioning skills with substance users \nBy the end of the course\, participants should be able to:1. Identify the different structures within the Criminal Justice System2. Describe the signs and effects of substance use3. Examine the impact of substance use in the Criminal Justice System4. Identify why people use substances5.
