SUMMARY:Supporting Welsh speaking disabled children and young people
DESCRIPTION:It is estimated that there are thousands of Welsh Speaking children and young people in Wales who have additional learning needs or who are disabled and face challenges with day to day support services\, socialising and education. Is this you? \nOr are you a professional working with disabled children and young people who speak Welsh.  Are you able to offer a service that is respectful of linguistic choices? \nIt is frequently brought to Children in Wales’s that finding and accessing appropriate services in Welsh for children and young people is often a challenge. \nHave you experienced this? \nIf so\, you maybe interested in a seminar that aims to take a look at what supports and good practice exists already in various parts of Wales. \nThey will also consider what Welsh speaking young people and their families report as being the most challenging experiences from their perspective.  \nFor the professionals who may not speak Welsh themselves but are working with Welsh speaking children\, young people and families\, Children in Wales hopes to improve your understanding and knowledge of services that might help you in your work; look at examples of best practice and consider possible solutions to ongoing challenges in the field. \nChildren in Wales is very interested in having a wide range of people attend who have an interest in this field as well as welcoming children and young people who would like to share their experiences to better inform professionals. \nPlease get in touch with Children in Wales to book your place and let them know if you would like to make a contribution\, be a speaker or just come to share practice and experiences.  \nThere are a limited number of free places for parents\, carers\, children or young people who are interested in attending. To request a free place\, please contact lynne.hill@childreninwales.org.uk \nPrice: £40
