SUMMARY:Safeguarding Older People from Domestic Abuse Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Agored Cymru is delighted to be working with the Older People’s Commissioner to Quality Mark their upcoming road shows. The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales is holding six seminar events across Wales to help safeguard older people from domestic abuse. The events are aimed at front-line staff from various organisations including health & social care\, the Police Service\, Fire and Rescue Service\, home care workers\, intermediaries and advocacy bodies. \nDelegates will be able to develop: \n\nAn understanding of the prevalence and management of domestic abuse of older people.\nKnowledge to identify the signs of abuse and what to do about it\nAn understanding of the prevalence and management of domestic abuse of older people.\nKnowledge to identify the signs of abuse and what to do about it\nKnowledge of the support available to older people\nWays to raise awareness of domestic abuse with older people\nAn understanding of the hidden problem of coercion\nWays of implementing changes in working practice.\n\nThe Agored Cymru Quality Mark measures learning excellence and promotes outstanding practice in Wales. Agored Cymru has awarded its Quality Mark to this series of seminars. Delegates will receive an e-certificate from Agored Cymru to recognise their continuing professional development.
