SUMMARY:Recruiting\, Selecting and Inducting Volunteers
DESCRIPTION:This training will help you understand a range of methods to attract a diversity of volunteers and recognise selection as a two-way process.\n\n\nThe training will help you improve your knowledge on welcoming volunteers to your organisation. It would be suitable for volunteer managers\, coordinators\, supervisors\, team leaders and individuals who have responsibility for recruiting\, training and managing volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to apply and will be allocated a space\, on a first come first served basis. By the end of the course\, you will: \n\nBe familiar with a range of methods to attract a diversity of volunteers​\nRecognise ‘selection’ as a two ways process and be familiar with a range of selection tools​\nUnderstand the use of vetting procedures including DBS checks and recognise their limitations​\nMaking ‘the’ volunteer feel ‘welcomed’\nUnderstand the purpose and nature of volunteer agreements and volunteer induction​\nRecognise ways in which volunteering can be made more accessible to all\n\nDate: Thursday 4th December 2025 \nTime: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm \nThe training will be a hybrid event. In-person attendees will participate at Oasis Cardiff.
