DESCRIPTION:This popular evidence based approach has been around for nearly 30 years and been taken up by a wide range of practitioners in health and social care fields. \nThe NewLink Wales course will provide a clear understanding of the goals\, concepts\, processes and skills of Motivational Interviewing\, along with a chance to practice the skills with pre-prepared scenarios and your own material. Furthermore it provides an opportunity to identify\, distinguish and encourage the types of language that predict behaviour change whilst offering a chance to explore how workers and clients contribute to discord in the relationship (formerly described as ‘resistance’).
