SUMMARY:Mencap Cymru meeting to discuss changes to the UK benefits system
DESCRIPTION:The UK government wants to change the way that many people with a learning disability get their benefits. This will mean replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) with a Personal Independence Payment (PIP).  \nThey also plan to bring in universal credit (UC) to replace all means tested benefits\, like Employment Support Allowance (ESA)\, Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Tax Credits.   \nThis could mean that many people who now get DLA may miss out in the future.  \nDuring this meeting\, Mencap Cymru will explain these changes and talk about what this will mean to people with a learning disability and their families in Wales.   \n    \nThese are the two venues nearest to Cardiff: \nSouth Wales Central \nTonyrefail Leisure Centre \nTy’n y Bryn Park \nWaun Rhydd Road \nTonyrefail \nCF39 8EW \nSouth Wales East \nActive Living Centre \nTrosnant Street \nPontypool \nTorfaen \nNP4 8AT
