SUMMARY:Introduction to Safeguarding Children – Level 1
DESCRIPTION:This training session is for any professional that works with children or works with adults who have children.  \nTraining provided will satisfy the prerequisite requirements for attending level 2 training provided by the LSCB. \n  \nThis training covers: \n – The legal framework for safeguarding children; – The responsibilities of individuals and organisations; – The possible signs  of abuse; – Dealing with disclosures from children; – How to make a referral; – The response to be expected to a referral. \n    \nParticipants will: \n – Feel confident to make referrals; – Understand the responses they may receive; – Understand how to respond to children who disclose and what to look for; – Better understand the legal frameworks that are in place and how and where this applies to them within their job roles. \n – QCF Diploma – linked units: \n– Unit 4222-345 Understand How to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Children and Young People– Unit 516 Understand safeguarding of children and young people (for those working in the adult sector) (P5) \nSpaces are limited\, please book early to avoid disappointment. \nPlease email David Brown at Cardiff Council for a booking form (which must be completed).
