DESCRIPTION:This Wales Co-operative Centre free\, practical workshop is designed for people planning to set-up co-operative care and well-being support services. \nThe Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act creates exciting opportunities for how care and well-being support services are delivered in Wales. It calls for more co-operatives\, social enterprises\, and user-led groups to be involved in providing personal care and well-being support services. This is because these organisations seek to place people at the heart of decisions about the type of support they access. \nThis innovative workshop is designed for people who are planning to set-up new care and well-being support services encouraged by the Act. It provides a comprehensive overview of how to develop a new service from an initial idea. \nThrough a combination of presentations\, films and group activities\, the workshop will guide you through the steps involved in finalising your business strategy\, choosing your legal model and governance\, and taking advantage of new opportunities to grow. \nYou will have the chance to apply your learning through an interactive case-study\, where the decisions you make will determine the strategy and legal structure\, of a potential service. \nThe aims of the workshop are: \n\nTo show how the principles of co-operation link to the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act.\nTo provide a practical step-by-step guide to forming a business strategy.\nTo introduce a range of legal models and show the differences between them.\nTo provide an overview of governance responsibilities and shared decision-making.\nTo give participants the chance to test and apply their learning.\nTo provide practical examples of opportunities to grow and develop services.\n\nLunch will be provided. \nTo book a place please click here.
